NHL Pick: Sergei Bobrovsky Over 28.5 Saves (+125) at BetOnline (visit our BetOnline Review)
Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final takes place tonight in Florida, as the Panthers look to take a 3-1 series lead to Edmonton for Game 5.
The home team, Florida, is currently priced at -135 on the moneyline with the top-rated sportsbooks, while the visiting Oilers are as high as +135 with BetOnline.
We have our thoughts on who might win tonight and which way the total may go, but our favorite pick is a goaltender NHL prop play at plus money. And if you’re looking for more value picks, make sure to take a look at our YouTube channel for more daily betting advice.
Edmonton Oilers vs. Florida Panthers
Thursday, June 12, 2025 – 08:00 PM EDT at Amerant Bank Arena
Panthers Starting to Dominate
Despite losing Game 1, the Florida Panthers have laid down the hammer in back-to-back wins, and both by completely different ways. The Panthers won Game 2 in double overtime. The second win was all domination with a 6-1 victory.
The Oilers left too many penalties on the floor in that 6-1 defeat, with a total of 21 penalties throughout the game. Despite getting 40 shots on target, the Panthers’ goaltender got red hot. It all finally boiled over with an all-out brawl in the latter part of the game, when the Oilers knew they were beaten.
It’s fair to say the Panthers got under their skin.
How Will Game 4 Go
We believe the Florida Panthers showed their true face the last time out; they stepped up their game and the Oilers were caught like a deer in the headlights.
Although the Oilers will no doubt be working on some tactics to counteract the Panthers’ high press and total domination, it’s going to be hard to beat a team that seems to be totally tuned in right now.
Edmonton’s performance in Game 3 hasn’t filled many pundits or sports bettors with encouragement, and Stuart Skinner finally had a stinker of a game. His head could be totally gone, and we believe the Oilers might end up starting Calvin Pickard tonight. The Oilers should show plenty of fight tonight, but we feel the Panthers will come out on top with a 4-2 win.
That being said, we see no value in their -135 odds, and wouldn’t look to consider taking them for any less than -115. After all, the Oilers do have the best player in hockey and have proved to be a much more determined team than last year.
Edmonton & Florida Trends & Facts
- In the 65 games this season in which it has outshot its opponent, Florida is 39-23-3.
- Edmonton has scored a single power-play goal in 40 games this season and has recorded 53 points from those matchups.
- In eight games this season when the Oilers ended a game with just one goal, they went 2-4 overall.
- The Panthers’ opponents have had more shots in 27 games. The Panthers went 15-10-2 in those matchups.
The Pick
With the Edmonton Oilers averaging 32.2 shots per game this season and 30.7 per game throughout these playoffs, our favorite pick tonight is the Edmonton Oilers to get shots on net. Therefore, we believe the best pick for tonight’s game is Florida’s goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky to go over 28.5 saves at +125 NHL betting odds.
We have to believe that the Oilers will shoot at will throughout tonight’s game, having only scored one goal last time out. They will also be eager to even up the series before heading back to Edmonton, having let a 1-0 series lead slip.
Game 1 saw Sergei Bobrovsky save 46 shots (although there was a double overtime, he still made 32 saves in regulation). And despite the fact that Edmonton only scored one goal last time out, Bobrovsky still made 33 saves.
We cannot believe we are getting odds this strong on this line in a must win game for the Oilers. We would happily bet this down to +110 for value and encourage a look at some alternative lines such as his over 30.5 saves at +280.
