NHL Pick: Florida Panthers -1.5 (+150) at BetOnline (visit our BetOnline Review)

Game four of the Eastern Conference Finals takes place tonight in the Amerant Bank Arena in Florida. The host team hold a 3-0 series lead, and a win tonight would see them advance to their 3rd Stanley Cup finals in a row.
The Carolina Hurricanes came into this series with a lot of hope but it seems the Panthers put that to bed with three wins in the first three games. According to top sportsbooks, the Florida Panthers are juiced all the way to -175 to win on home ice tonight on the moneyline, whilst the Carolina Hurricanes are +155 NHL betting odds on the moneyline.

Carolina Hurricanes vs. Florida Panthers
Monday, May 26, 2025 – 08:00 PM EDT at Amerant Bank Arena
Carolina Need to Bring Their A Game
This is a must win game for the Carolina Hurricanes if they wish to remain in the Stanley Cup playoffs following a 6-2 defeat last time out that has now left them down 0-3 in the series. The Panthers and Hurricanes were tied 1-1 at the start of the 3rd period, but by the 11th minute, the Panthers had a 6-1 goal lead scoring 5 goals in 10 minutes.
The Hurricanes can’t afford to lose any more games in this Eastern Conference finals, or it will be the end of their campaign. The Hurricanes have not lived up to their expectations, and they could be about to face a sweep from the Florida Panthers for a second season in a row.
Besides game one of the series, the Hurricanes have been humbled throughout this series and can’t dispute the fact that they are down 0-3. The Florida Panthers are not a team for complacency, and they proved that in game 3 with a decisive victory. Even more impressive considering they were missing one of their key forwards in Sam Reinhart.
Unfortunately for the Hurricanes they are up against the toughest team in the NHL, and a series comeback seems highly unlikely, even if they manage to somehow miraculously pull it back to 3-3, we would still have to side with the Panthers in game seven with their mentality throughout these playoffs and previous years.
Goaltending Prowess
The Florida Panthers’ offence has really stepped up their game throughout this year’s playoffs, but it’s always been their goaltending that’s been their biggest strength in recent season, and Sergei Bobrovsky has certainly been the hero for the Panthers on more than one occasion.
Bobrovsky has had an amazing playoffs and is on course to maintain the Conn Smythe award for the second season in a row. Bobrovsky has had a .914 save percentage this season and throughout his NHL career has gone 429-243-57. Bobrovsky has allowed 2.77 goals throughout his career and thus far throughout the post-season has gone 11-4 and allowed 2.12 goals per game.

- Florida is 5-1 in its last 6 games when playing at home against Carolina.
The Pick
The Panthers have dominated the series to date, and we can’t see that stopping anytime soon. If they were on the road here, we might side with the Carolina Hurricanes but it’s hard to ignore the Panthers when they are playing on home ice. The Panthers are 4-2 on home ice this post-season whilst the Hurricanes are 3-3 on the road throughout the playoffs.
Florida has covered the -1.5 PK line in 5 of their previous 6 NHL post-season games, and overall this post-season has gone 9-6 at the spread. When coming out on the winning side the Panthers are 10-1 to the -1.5 PK line.
We love the current odds the top-rated sportsbooks are putting up for the Panthers to cover the spread yet again, as they are +150 NHL betting odds, we would happily take this bet down to as low as +120.
