The Miami Heat and Utah Jazz have been extremely aggressive to start the year on the offensive end when it comes to rebounding and free throws. Will that continue in tonight’s game? Let’s check out the NBA odds!
Miami Heat vs. Utah Jazz
Saturday, November 13, 2021 – 05:00 PM EST at Vivint Arena
The Miami Heat have looked like one of the best offenses in the NBA this season. However, with a 7-5 record on the year, Miami’s record hasn’t exactly reflected that. Still, it’s early in the season and with a win against the Jazz tonight, Miami will be in a solid position at 8-5. It’s all about perspective at the end of the day.
On the other hand, the Utah Jazz are 8-4 on the year and have played slightly better than Miami this season. The offense and defense are clicking at a top 10 rate and the Jazz just continue to get better year after year.
Utah is second in the NBA with 114.5 points per 100 possessions while shooting a 54 percent effective field goal percentage.

Rudy in the Middle
With Rudy Gobert manning the middle, the Jazz are snatching 30.6 percent of offensive rebounds and they’re also getting to the line at the third-highest rate in the NBA. The Jazz can get a bit careless with the ball, turning the ball over 15.2 percent of the time, but with high percentage shots, the turnovers aren’t all that bad.
Defensively, the Jazz holds their opponents to 105.3 points per 100 possessions this season. They’re also holding opponents to a 50.1 percent effective field goal percentage, which is a top-five number in the league. Utah isn’t very aggressive and won’t look to force turnovers.
They’d rather clean up the glass and force bad shots.
They do a great job of this, for the most part, allowing 24.8 percent offensive rebounds and a free throw rate of 15.9. Miami’s offense is way more aggressive. While they only shoot an effective field goal percentage of 51.8 percent, the Heat are scoring 111.9 points per 100 possessions along with 29.9 percent offensive rebounds and a 21.6 free throw rate, which is the best in the league.

Defensively, the Heat are average. Again, they’ve been able to dominate the glass on both ends of the court, and it’ll be interesting how they pair up against the Jazz, especially on the defensive end. Miami will foul the Jazz and put them to the line a solid bit in this game as they’re 20th in free throw rate on the defensive end. The match-up between Heat center Bam Adebayo and Rudy Gobert will be fun when it comes to rebounds.
Combined, both of those centers are averaging 27 rebounds a game. Meanwhile, Donovan Mitchell has added 25.9 points per game for the Jazz to lead all scorers. At this time, Jimmy Butler, who would’ve been matched up with Mitchell, has been sidelined due to an injury and is questionable for this game.
Expert Prediction
The Jazz and Heat both get to the line at an extreme rate. Knowing this, if we can get points from both of these teams with the time stopped, I like the over in this game. The Jazz are a terrific defense but they’re going to have trouble getting defensive rebounds against this Miami Heat team. They’re aggressive on the glass and find a way to get to the line.
Meanwhile, the Jazz just do everything right on the offensive end and while Miami has done well rebounding on the defensive end, going up against the Jazz, who are another aggressive team on offense, will be a bit hard. Take the over at 213.5 for your NBA pick tonight.
