The rotation, in particular, could be terrific. Peralta gives them a legitimate ace at the top, Nolan McLean has the tools to break out, and Kodai Senga is a prime bounce-back candidate. If those three hit their ceilings, this suddenly becomes one of the most dangerous pitching staffs in the league.
Then there’s the star power. Juan Soto and Francisco Lindor are game-changers who can carry an offense for stretches.
More importantly, this is an organization that isn’t afraid to push its chips in. If the Mets are in contention at the deadline, don’t be surprised if they make another splash, potentially targeting an elite arm like Tarik Skubal. Look out for this team.

Waiting for one of those dips could present a much better entry point for bettors. The Dodgers will win a lot of games, but timing your investment is key.
New York Yankees (+1000)
The Yankees once again enter the season with one of the most dangerous lineups in baseball. A full season from Ben Rice can be huge, as he has a lot of power upside. Bringing back Cody Bellinger adds stability in the middle of the order as well.
There’s reason for optimism on the pitching side as well. Gerrit Cole’s return gives the rotation an anchor, and if young starters like Cam Schlittler can step up, this group could outperform expectations.
Out of these top contenders, the Yankees look like the best price.
Seattle Mariners (+1200)
The Mariners are one of the more fascinating teams in this field. On paper, they check nearly every box you’d want in a contender. The rotation, anchored by Logan Gilbert, Bryan Woo, and George Kirby, is among the best in baseball when healthy. Offensively, Julio Rodriguez and Cal Raleigh provide impact bats capable of changing games. While the bullpen, led by Andres Munoz and Matt Brash, is deep.
So why the hesitation?
Injuries are the concern. Several of their key pitchers have dealt with health issues over the past year. The depth behind them isn’t particularly reassuring. Bryce Miller is already expected to miss time, which puts additional pressure on the rest of the staff. While there are promising prospects in the pipeline, relying on inexperienced arms in a playoff race is always risky.
There’s some volatility here. For that reason, there may be safer options at similar odds.

The lineup is loaded with talent. Pete Alonso adds power, Gunnar Henderson is a legit star, and Adley Rutschman is a well-rounded catcher. Add in an emerging prospect like Samuel Basallo, and this offense has serious depth.
On the pitching side, there’s plenty of upside. Kyle Bradish could emerge as a Cy Young contender, while Shane Baz and Taylor Rogers provide additional firepower.
Considering they won 91 games just two years ago, it’s not hard to envision this team making a deep run.
Houston Astros (+2500)
The Astros may not be getting as much attention as usual, but that’s exactly what makes them intriguing. Despite dealing with injuries last year, most notably limiting Yordan Alvarez to just 48 games, they still managed to win 87 games last season.
With Alvarez back at full strength, the offense should take a significant step forward. New additions Tatsuya Imai and Mike Burrows help reinforce the rotation following the departure of Framber Valdez.
This is still a well-balanced, experienced team with a proven track record. At +2500, they offer sneaky value as a contender flying just under the radar.
Final Thoughts: The Dodgers vs. Everybody
