- Solid Promotions
- Easy Cashier Options
- Not available outside Canada
Sports Interaction (SIA) has gained a reputation as one of the best online sportsbooks in Canada by providing a very impressive all-round user experience. It is among the easiest sportsbooks for Canadian bettors to fund, and it offers a huge range of markets to bet on each week. It is specifically designed for Canadians, so the ice hockey section is excellent, but it also covers dozens of other sports, esports and virtual sports, and it has a strong online casino, racebook and poker room too.
This Sports Interaction review focuses on the registration process, the bonuses and promotions you can expect, and the banking methods that you can choose from. BMR will provide its verdict on the quality of the user experience and odds, the customer service, the breadth of betting options and the depth of its sporting coverage. Read on to learn more about Sports Interaction.
SportsInteraction Sign-Up Process
You can begin the Sports Interaction registration process by clicking on the green “Sign Up” button at the top right of the homepage:
- You will first be asked to provide a security question and answer, and inform Sports Interaction where you heard of the site. If you choose “A Friend”, you will have the option to enter a referral code.
- Choose your marketing preferences, agree to the terms and conditions and click “Sign Up”.
- This triggers a lengthy application form. You will be asked for your email address, name, date of birth and mobile number.
- Choose a username and password.
- Enter a valid Canadian address and click “Sign Up”.
You will then be able to verify your Sports Interaction account and start betting on your favourite sports.
SportsInteraction is clearly one of, if not the best, option for Canadian sports bettors.
Sports Interaction offers Canadian customers a straightforward 100% welcome bonus worth up to $100. There is a 10-time rollover requirement attached to both your deposit and the bonus. If you were to deposit $100 of your own money, your account would be credited with $200. You would then need to place $2,000 worth of wagers before you would be able to make a withdrawal.
You can alternatively choose to use your 100% welcome bonus in the online casino. It is still worth up to $100, but it has a 30x rollover requirement. This first time deposit bonus is considerably smaller than the bonuses on offer at some competitors. For example, BetOnline will give Canadian customers a sign up bonus worth up to $1,000.
There is no standard reload bonus at Sports Interaction. They are available to regular players on the site, but you will need to contact customer support for further details. The reload bonus you will receive is tied to the loyalty program. As with most loyalty programs, the more bets you make, the more points you earn and the more benefits you unlock. There is also a refer a friend bonus available alongside the first deposit and reload bonuses. If you refer a friend, you will receive 20% of their first deposit up to $200. There are no ongoing promotions, such as parlay insurance, odds boosts and so on, which is a little disappointing.
Sports Interaction User Experience
Sports Interaction provides a unique user experience. It features a blue background with clear text and a neat layout. It is pretty stylish. There is a search function, which works well, and navigation is simple and effective. The bet slip is easy to use. You can switch from English to French with ease, and you can customize it to feature your preferred odds format.
Sports Interaction offers online sports betting customers a wealth of helpful stats too. Click on “SIA Insights” to trigger a new window, which tells you which teams and markets have attracted the most bets, the line history, roster information, head-to-heads, recent results and so on. Several online sportsbooks provide generic stats nowadays, but the wagering stats at Sports Interaction are helpful, detailed, and displayed in a user-friendly format that is easy to absorb.
SportsInteraction does not offer a sports betting app, but you can access a mobile optimized site from your mobile browser. BMR tested it out for our Sports Interaction review, and we were impressed by the performance on several different Apple and Android devices. One minor difference is that the mobile casino features fewer games, but that is because older casino games are not mobile optimized. Overall, navigation is simple via a mobile device, and the team has done an excellent job of providing mobile users with a convenient and effective mobile sports betting experience.
Sports Betting Options
Sports Interaction offers a broad range of sports betting options each day. It does not provide as many prop bets as some of its rivals, but it covers a large array of leagues and tournaments from around the world.
The sports covered by Sports Interaction are listed in order of popularity down the left of the homepage. As it is a site for Canadian bettors, hockey naturally takes pride of place:
- Table Tennis
- Motor Racing (Formula 1, Nascar)
- Horse Racing
- Rugby (league and union)
- Aussie Rules
- Winter Olympics
That is a pretty long list. Some niche sports are missing, such as lacrosse, netball, futsal, field hockey, surfing and badminton, but it covers the vast majority of events that will be of interest to Canadian bettors. The “Specials” section features US elections, UK elections and a feature called “Piñata Picks”. There are a lot of virtual sports, but the esports section only features CS:GO, Dota 2 and League of Legends, and not popular games such as Call of Duty, Rainbow Six, Overwatch and Rocket League.
Depth of Sporting Coverage
The Sports Interaction website goes pretty deep with its sporting coverage. It has betting on hockey leagues across Europe, while hoops fans can bet on basketball tournaments in France, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy, Spain and Ukraine alongside NBA, WNBA and NCAAB. The football sectional naturally covers the CFL. Sports Interaction does not feature as many soccer leagues as the big European sportsbooks, but it still goes reasonably deep, and its coverage of cricket, rugby and golf is strong.
Sports Interaction offers a reasonable range of betting options on big sporting events. You will find alternate lines and totals, lots of different game props, and betting on periods, quarters or halves. However, it lacks a same game parlay builder. You often have to go into a separate section to find player props, which is a little cumbersome, but it does have some decent player props on hockey, basketball and soccer. We were also impressed by some of the unique futures betting options, many of them tied to Canadian NHL teams, when conducting this Sports Interaction review. On sports like cricket and rugby, it normally just offers moneyline odds, but no spreads, totals or props.
Sports Interaction offers live betting on hockey, soccer, tennis, basketball, baseball, table tennis and a couple of other sports. You can enjoy live streaming on baseball games. The list of betting options is reasonably strong, but it falls short of some rivals. For example, many online sportsbooks allow you to bet on the result of every point in a tennis match. At Sports Interaction, you can bet on the outcome of each game, but not each point. However, the live betting section is user-friendly, and Sports Interaction also offers a cash out feature to hand bettors more control over their wagers.
Wagering Limits at SIA
The minimum bet is just $1. The maximum bet is $2,200 for bets made on the spreads in the major North American sports. For all other max bets, you can contact the customer service team, but this is a sportsbook for casual bettors as opposed to high rollers.
Quality of Odds at SIA
Sports Interaction offers standard -110 dime lines on spreads and totals. Its moneyline, prop betting and futures betting odds are generally in line with its main competitors. This is by no means a reduced juice sports betting site operating on slim margins, but it does not offer the worst odds on the market either. Sports Interaction is generally pretty average in terms of the quality of its odds, and sometimes above average. It also offers some interesting teasers.
Sports Interaction User Reviews
Our readers are very upbeat about the service they have received from Sports Interaction. It has a reputation for delivering quick, reliable payouts, which is important. It is licensed and regulated in Canada, which gives bettors a great deal of confidence, and it has a strong security record. Sports Interaction faces stiff competition in Canada, where it goes up against the likes of Bodog, BetOnline, Betway and 10Bet, but it holds its own against those industry heavyweights and it has a strong base of loyal customers.
Sports Interaction offers 24/7 customer support, which is really helpful. Some sportsbooks only allow you to contact their customer service team during working hours, Monday to Friday, but Sports Interaction has agents working around the clock. You can choose from live chat, phone or email. BMR found the representatives to be knowledgeable, friendly and helpful when we tested out the live chat service for this Sports Interaction review. There is also a detailed “Help” section, and a search function allows you to quickly find topics within it.
Other Betting Options
Sports Interaction is a strong all-round betting site with lots of other sections:
Sports Interaction boasts a fantastic casino section featuring a wide variety of high-quality games from some of the world’s most famous software providers. Many of the top slots are provided by Playtech, which is a very safe and reliable developer of casino games. There are lots of video table games, including blackjack, baccarat, Caribbean Stud and 3-card poker. Here are a few video poker titles, and the jackpots section is great. The online casino is neatly laid out and user-friendly, but more promos would elevate the user experience. There is a separate “Games” section featuring video slots, casino games, virtual sports and games like keno.
Sports Interaction has a strong selection of live dealer casino games. They include SIA Casino exclusives. You will find plenty of blackjack, roulette, baccarat and poker variants, plus Sic Bo, Hi Lo and game show style offerings such as Adventures Beyond Wonderland, Deal or No Deal and Spin a Win. The dealers are all very friendly and professional, so you should enjoy a great experience.
Sports Interaction offers a pretty comprehensive racebook featuring thoroughbred, harness and greyhound racing from Canada, the United States, the UK, Ireland, Hong Kong, South Africa and Sweden. The racecards are pretty basic and the maximum wagers are low, but it is very user-friendly and perfect for beginners.
BMR Verdict on Sports Interaction
Sports Interaction is a pretty good option for Canadian bettors. It covers a wide variety of sports in reasonable depth. The odds are relatively competitive. There are lots of convenient banking options to choose from, and 24/7 customer support is great. The casino is also very impressive. However, the bonuses are a little underwhelming, and it does nothing to reward existing customers for their loyalty. The betting limits are also on the low side. If you want better bonuses and higher limits, BetOnline and Bodog are excellent options. Yet Sports Interaction is a trustworthy, reliable online sportsbook with a user-friendly wagering platform, so we can recommend this site to our readers.
