Our Verdict
A basic online sportsbook that is not currently accepting new players.
BetUSA has targeted U.S. sports bettors from its base in Costa Rica for many years. Many years ago, it held a B+ rating with BMR, as it was a trusted, reliable operator. However, its rating has now plummeted to a C- as a result of several delayed payments.
This is a sister site to Sportsbook.com, which has been placed on our blacklist for repeatedly failing to pay players. You cannot currently sign up for a BetUSA account, as it stopped accepting new customers a few years ago. It may open up to new players at some point, but we would advise readers to avoid this sportsbook and choose one of our A+-rated sites instead.
BetUSA Sign-Up Process
BetUSA stopped accepting new customers a few years ago. If you visit the site, you will only find a login page, and there is no option to create a new account.
Banking
Bonus Codes and Promos at BetUSA
BetUSA is not currently accepting new customers, so there is no sign-up bonus. When it welcomed new customers a couple of years ago, there was a 20% deposit bonus with a 20x rollover requirement. Existing customers can claim a few recurring promos.
BetUSA’s User Experience
BetUSA is virtually identical to its sister site Sportsbook.com, as it runs on the same platform. There is nothing particularly exciting or attractive about the design at BetUSA. However, some bettors will enjoy the simple, clear, stripped-back design.
It mainly features various shades of gray, with large, clear text and the odd splash of color.
BetUSA’s Mobile Experience
BetUSA offers a perfectly functional mobile site. You are unlikely to be blown away by the experience, as it is not rich with exciting features and it does not arm you with interesting sports stats or offer live streaming, but it is reasonably effective, and it allows you to place wagers quickly while on the go.
Betting Options at BetUSA
As the name suggests BetUSA is naturally intended to serve the American sports betting market. That means NFL, NBA, NCAAF, NCAAB, MLB and NHL and are the main major sports leagues covered.
This sportsbook generally offers between 20 and 30 betting options on football and basketball games, starting with the standard types of bets like moneyline, spread and totals. You can find first-half quarter lines on NFL, plus three-way quarter lines. Prop bets include both teams to score, first team to score, first type of score, team totals, winning margins and a few player props.
Depth of Sports Coverage at BetUSA
You can bet on a reasonable array of sports at BetUSA, though it lacks the wide range seen at other sites. Along with football, hockey, baseball and basketball, it covers all the big UFC fights and major soccer leagues, plus golf, tennis, table tennis, auto racing, boxing, horse racing and table tennis.
There is an esports section too, and you can bet on U.S. presidential elections. It may occasionally offer entertainment markets too.
Betting Markets Offered by BetUSA
This sportsbook offers fewer betting markets than rivals like Bovada and BetOnline, but more than many other competitors. For example, the NBA section is divided into game lines, props, game futures and long-term futures, including the NBA Championship, the winner of each conference and possible Finals matchups.
There are typically 19 wagering options on NBA games, from spreads and totals to winning margins and half-time or full-time betting. It offers a few player props too.
Live Betting at BetUSA
There is a basic in-game betting section on this online gambling site. The list of sporting events covered in the BetUSA live betting section is small, and the selection of markets tends to be modest, but it covers the main games each week reasonably well.
Wagering Limits at BetUSA
The minimum bet is $1 per game. The maximum varies depending on the sport, league and sports betting option you choose.
The Quality of Odds at BetUSA
The betting odds are average at this online sports betting site. BetUSA offers standard juice sides and totals on basketball and football games. Its futures, props and moneylines are rarely market-leading, but some rivals take a lot more juice.
BetUSA’s Customer Reviews
BetUSA has a reasonably poor reputation among sports bettors. Some customers have reported long, frustrating delays after requesting payouts. It is also a sister site to the blacklisted Sportsbook.com, which has a terrible reputation.
However, BetUSA has actually paid customers, albeit after lengthy delays, and management has shown an openness to discuss payment issues, so this site is not on our blacklist right now.
BetUSA’s Customer Service
The customer service team at BetUSA is only available via email. Rivals offer 24/7 phone and live chat support, so the level of service is disappointing at this sportsbook.
Other Betting Options Offered by BetUSA
Casino players may enjoy BetUSA’s basic online casino featuring a broad range of more than 100 games, including slot games and table games. It has a full-service racebook too for horse races, which is comparable to the pari-mutuel betting platforms at rival offshore sportsbooks.
