Originally published on March 12, 2022

The Golden State Warriors will be getting healthy very soon. But for now, the Warriors will still be without Draymond Green and James Wiseman. How does that affect them in tonight’s game against the Bucks? Let’s see what the NBA odds for this matchup tell us!

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Golden State Warriors

Saturday, March 12, 2022 – 08:30 PM EST at Chase Center

Tonight could be a matchup that we’ll see in the NBA Finals. The Milwaukee Bucks and Golden State Warriors are both at the top of their leagues with over 40 wins on the season. Milwaukee is currently red hot, winning six straight games and five straight to start the month of March.

Meanwhile, Golden State is starting to get healthy and has now won two straight games against the Clippers and Nuggets. The Warriors still won’t have James Wiseman or Draymond Green for tonight’s game but those two are returning shortly.

Still, the Warriors will have Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Andrew Wiggins along with the rest of the deep squad. On the other hand, the Bucks should be getting Brook Lopez back soon as he’s been cleared to practice within the last week.

The Bucks are currently one of the best offenses in the NBA. Milwaukee is scoring 115.2 points per 100 possessions while shooting a 54.8% effective field goal percentage. The Bucks only turn the ball over 13.3% of the time and earn 25.8% of offensive rebounds.

Milwaukee has also been getting to the line at a high rate and has the potential to do more of that tonight with Golden State fouling at an above-average rate this season. Still, on the defensive end, the Warriors have been elite, holding teams to 106.9 points per 100 possessions.

Teams are shooting just a 51.4% effective field goal percentage against the Warriors and Golden State is also earning 15.3% of turnovers on the defensive end. On the glass, the Warriors have been able to limit offensive rebounds to 25.6% as well.

On the flip side is where things get ugly. The Warriors are only scoring 112.6 points per 100 possessions this season. From the Warriors, you just expect more. Golden State is shooting an effective field goal percentage of 55.3%, which is one of the best percentages in basketball.

Therefore, you just expect more points. Instead, the Warriors turn the ball over 15.3% of the time, rarely earn offensive rebounds, and don’t get to the line all that often either. The Bucks won’t force a whole lot of turnovers but Milwaukee will limit offensive rebounds and foul shots.

Prediction

Despite the Warriors being the home team, the Bucks are still favorites. That helps clear the picture a bit. The Warriors haven’t been elite on the offensive end while the Bucks have been able to limit second chances and don’t commit fouls at a high rate. Therefore, for my NBA picks, I’ll side with the Bucks on the moneyline for tonight’s game on ABC.
