The team behind BMR originally founded SportsbookReview.com (SBR) in 1999, building it into the sports betting industry’s predominant rating authority and dispute resolution center.
- 1999 – 2013: Our founders established the industry standard for sportsbook ratings (A+ to F), recovering millions of dollars for players and exposing rogue operators.
- 2013: Recognizing the need for a dedicated platform for handicapping and deeper analysis, our management team acquired Bookmakers Review (BMR) to serve as a specialized sister site to SBR.
- 2023: SBR was sold to a regulated media conglomerate. Crucially, BMR was not part of this sale. The original founders, executive management, and the core editorial and analyst teams retained ownership of BMR.
- Present Day: The original “SBR Team”—the same experts you trusted for over two decades—now operates exclusively under the Bookmakers Review banner. We continue the mission of unbiased advocacy, independent reviews, and player protection that we started in 1999.
