The Sanderson Farms Championship has been played at the Country Club of Jackson since 2014 and the event is a well-established one on the PGA Tour, dating back to 1968.
With smallish tricky Bermuda greens, the track is one of the easier on the PGA Tour and was redesigned in 2008 incorporating a Donald Ross influence where possible. Despite being set in parkland poor driving is rarely penalized allowing long hitters to thrive like recent winners Sergio Garcia and Cameron Champ.

Bronson Burgoon is a new name for my readers and followers to see in my How to bet the 2021 Sanderson Farms Championship. This week the thirty-five-year-old from Texas looks primed to start the new season quickly after a solid opening event at the Fortinet Championship where he finished 16th.
The 2020/2021 season was a write-off for Burgoon with only three top 20 finishes and a bunch of missed cuts leaving him languishing outside the top 150. With his playing privileges on the line, he produced an exceptional performance at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital when he was runner-up to regain his place on the PGA Tour in the last chance saloon.
Often, a performance like Burgoon’s can be career-changing and his 16th at the Fortinet Championship consolidated the confidence gained. His Greens in regulation play looked solid and they were backed up by a strong approach and around the green stats. That looks a perfect mix for the coming week in Mississippi so unsurprisingly Bronson Burgoon has played well before at the Country Club of Jackson with two top 20 finishes, one of which was 6th in 2019.
Interestingly two previous Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship runner-ups, Ryan Armour and Peter Malnati went on to win their first PGA Tour title at the Sanderson Farms Championship. Bronson Burgoon is a name that could keep that trend going this week and I advise playing him as a longshot at +10000 with GTbets (visit our GTbets Review) amongst our best bets at this week’s Sanderson Farms Championship.

Recent weeks have seen Patrick Rodgers string together a new level of consistency on the PGA Tour. The twenty-nine-year-old from Indiana has long been a highly respected ball-striker whose performances have been sporadic. I get the impression a strong US Open at Torrey Pines was a watershed moment for Rodgers who since has accumulated five top 20 finishes in eleven events including the Fortinet Championship two weeks ago wherewith improved short game stats, he was a fast-finishing 6th.
There’s no doubt much of Rodgers’s best golf has been played in California at the Riviera Country Club, Torrey Pines, and Silverado but he has also promised here at the Country Club of Jackson where he has a couple of top 20 finishes in the last five years. There’s no doubt in my mind that Patrick Rodgers is set for a step up in level and he has a safe look for this week’s banker play in the top 20 markets amongst our best bets for the Sanderson Farms Championship.
