Boston comes into tonight’s NHL matchup in Anaheim looking to build on their 5-0 streak and push themselves further up the Eastern Conference table.
Meanwhile, the Anaheim Ducks have won just 6 of their previous 15 NHL games are and unlikely to make the playoffs.
Interestingly both these teams were involved in shutouts in their previous NHL game.

The Bruins romped the LA Kings last time out with a 7-0 win on the road. Jeremy Swayman faced 34 shots in the contest, saving 25 of them. Jake DeBrusk bagged himself his first NHL career hat-trick in the game.
Swayman has stepped up to the plate in a big way in recent games, having allowed just five goals in his previous five starts, and has only allowed an average of 2.04 goals per game. The Bruins have the 6th best goals-against record this season.
The Bruins hold a 2 win advantage over the Detroit Red Wings in the final playoff spot in the Atlantic Division and surprisingly are just 7 points behind the Florida Panthers, who have been phenomenal this season.

Anaheim’s biggest issue as of late has been their offensive output. The Ducks have scored just once in their last two games and the last time they hosted the Bruins on home ice they suffered a 3-0 loss. They rank 21st overall in goals per game this season having put up an average of 2.9 per game, but they do rank 6th when it comes to the powerplay.
Although the Ducks are just 3 points shy of being in a playoff position, they have played two games more than the Edmonton Oilers and Vegas Golden Knights, who are ahead of them in the Pacific Division playoff race.
The Ducks lost 4-0 to the Islanders in their last game.

Boston Bruins
Anaheim Ducks
Money Line: With the Bruins being in such strong form heading into tonight’s game they are priced up by the top-rated sportsbooks at -200; they are 27-11-1 this season as favorites. The Ducks' best odds are at +170 with Everygame (visit our Everygame Review).
Total: Tonight’s total line has been set at 5.5 with both the under and over juiced as the over is -115 and the under -105, although we expect the under to potentially hit +100 come game time.
Puck Line: Boston to cover the -1.5 PK line is currently +130 whilst the Ducks to cover the spread on home ice is as low as -150.
Tough to find value in this NHL matchup, it’s hard to oppose the strength of the Bruins right now and the Ducks have been known to cause an upset, especially on home ice. The Ducks have produced a 13-23-5 record as underdogs this season.
There’s no value on the Bruins' money line, especially given the fact they are playing back-to-back games and have been on the road now for the previous three games, which they all won. It’s very rare to see an NHL go 4-0 in a row on road games.
The better NHL odds do lie with taking the Ducks tonight, but for us, we can’t trust this team right now and believe the best play here to be the Over 5.5 goals.
Although the Bruins have been solid at the back lately, allowing just 6 goals in their previous 5 games, we don’t believe Swayman will be in the crease tonight as he started the previous two games and Anaheim will be targeting getting their offense going here. We see this one just about creeping over the total in a 4-2 victory to the home team.
The Ducks at +170 is worth a bet, but we wouldn’t risk any more than half a unit.
