Chicago Bulls vs. New York Knicks

Friday, December 23, 2022 – 07:30 PM EST at Madison Square Garden

RJ Barrett (New York Knicks)

The New York Knicks recently had their six-game winning streak snapped when they fell to the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night. Now they look to beat the Chicago Bulls for the third time in the last 10 days.

The Chicago Bulls are filled with turmoil right now because of lack of defensive effort, particularly from star Zach LaVine. This causes problems in the Bulls locker room, as LaVine is constantly late or lazy on his defensive rotations. What better team to attack for a player prop than a team that is struggling to play defense?

The Prop Pick

The Knicks' RJ Barrett has gone over this point total in five of his last seven games. Barrett scored 27 points against Charlotte, 27 points against Sacramento, and scored 27 against Chicago. I expect another big night from the player who was the holdup in the failed Donovan Mitchell trade, and for good reasons.

RJ Barrett is an excellent scorer who is learning the game of basketball. Each year he shows more and more IQ in his technique and his ability to attack opposing defenses. Attacking the Bulls' defense has been quite easy, as teams have shown as of late, that it is easy to run up the score on a team that is not committed to trusting in each other.

RJ Barrett will have a big night at home going into the Christmas season. The Bulls are in disarray and maybe breaking up this team before the trade deadline. Following the NBA odds, I expect the Knicks and RJ Barrett to make a statement.

Detroit Pistons vs. Atlanta Hawks

Friday, December 23, 2022 - 07:30 PM EST at State Farm Arena

Jalen Duren (Detroit Pistons)

The Pistons have been buying in on the development of rookie center Jalen Duren. He is one of the most athletic players to come into the league in years. Duren is 7 ft. tall, yet moves and jumps like a point guard. This allows him to be an excellent defender and an excellent rebounder.

The Prop Pick

Duren has gone over his prop total in seven of the last eight games. When teams are light at center like when he went against Charlotte, he can put up huge numbers, such as when he had 19 rebounds against the Hornets. Duren is athletic and knows how to box out and this is leading to sky-high rebounding totals.

Once Duren had an increase in minutes, his rebounding numbers have been excellent. Duren is averaging 10 more minutes per game in the month of December and his statistics have shown it. This gives us a great opportunity to hit a prop at Michigan betting sites that has been absolutely money.

Charlotte Hornets vs. Los Angeles Lakers

Friday, December 23, 2022 - 10:30 PM EST at Crypto.com Arena

Thomas Bryant (Los Angeles Lakers)

The Charlotte Hornets have had problems defending against big men. With Anthony Davis out, Thomas Bryant has stepped into an integral role in the Los Angeles Lakers lineup.

Thomas Bryant is a solid center who knows how to work down low. With the Lakers struggling to field solid NBA players, he has plenty of opportunities to score tonight. Bryant has seen a huge increase in usage since Anthony Davis went to the injury list.

The Prop Pick

Charlotte has struggled to defend big men for the last 3 to 4 years. They drafted rookie center Mark Williams to try and address that, but he is not far enough in his development to get stops against the NBA's best. While Bryant is not an All-Star, he is a solid, confident player who can take advantage of inferior competition.

Like most centers, I expect Thomas Bryant to have a big night against the Charlotte Hornets tonight. This is an excellent opportunity for Bryant to continue to solidify his role in the rotation, even when Davis returns to the team.

Big men have been crushing against the Charlotte Hornets and Bryant will be no different.
