Best NHL Player Props to Consider for April 1: Fools’ Gold (Archive)

Originally published on April 1, 2022

Plus money bonanza for our April Fools’ day card, we are not kidding. We might have even included a player prop that has no chance of hitting but because it’s Fools’ day, why not have some fun. Let’s check out our NHL prop picks.

New York Islanders vs. New York Rangers

Friday, April 01, 2022 – 07:00 PM EDT at Madison Square Garden

Artemi Panarin (New York Rangers)

One of the games of the night is no doubt the New York rivalry game between the Rangers and the Islanders.

Despite the Islanders being pretty much unable to make the playoffs, this doesn’t mean they won’t want to beat their Rangers rivals.

Although the Islanders will be up for this game, we are siding with the Rangers to win this one. Incredibly only 1 of their previous 6 games at Madison Square Garden’s seen both teams scoring.

The Rangers' top points scorer this season has been Artemi Panarin, he has racked up a total of 80 points, scoring 18 goals and assisting a whopping 62 goals (the 4th highest in the league).

We are liking the plus money on him to see at least two points in tonight’s game. Panarin has cashed this best bet in his previous two games, scoring 2 and 3 points, let’s hope he stays hot tonight.

NHL Pick: Artemi Over 1.5 Points (+150) with BetOnline (visit our BetOnline Review)

Chris Kreider (New York Ranger)

We weren’t lying when we said we had a player hat trick play tonight, Kreider has been having his best season to date and has found himself as the 3rd highest player in the league.

The 30-year-old has scored just one hat trick this season against a very poor Arizona team.

Admittedly it’s unlikely he will score three against the Islanders tonight and +2500 to score three goals isn’t great, we would have liked to get +3000 at least.

Nevertheless, this is a fun play so a ¼ unit stake is all we would advise risking.

It would be ironic if this bet won because a lot of people hearing about it would assume it was an April Fools' day joke. Can Kreider be our Fools' day hat trick hero?

We predict the Rangers will come out on top in a 5-2 victory, hopefully, a hat trick and two assists by Panarin to wrap it up.

Chicago Blackhawks vs. Tampa Bay Lightning

Friday, April 01, 2022 – 07:00 PM EDT at Amalie Arena

Corey Perry (Tampa Bay Lightning)

The big boys can’t be having all the fun, last time out most of the Lightings' star players managed to get on the scoreboard but tonight we are taking Corey Perry to find the back of the net for the first time in 11 games.

He is the Lightings' 5th highest scorer this season, just five goals behind 3rd overall.

It begs the question that he could actually be their 3rd overall scorer if they hadn’t gone on such a long goal drought.

We love that we are getting +340 on Perry here, the Lighting has a really strong history of scoring against the Blackhawks, having scored 6/7/4/4/6 goals in their previous five meetings.

The Blackhawks have been very poor in recent games and conceded 15 goals in their previous three games.

The Lighting should breeze past this team, and even if they don’t come out on the winning side, we still expect them to score at least three. Tampa Bay to win by 6 goals to 2 on home ice.

NHL Pick: Corey Perry Anytime Goalscorer (+340) with BetOnline

Ottawa Senators vs. Detroit Red Wings

Friday, April 01, 2022 – 07:30 PM EDT at Little Caesars Arena

Moritz Seider (Detroit Red Wings)

We expect this game between the Red Wings and Senators has the potential to be a high-scoring affair, and to be getting +100 at the NHL odds on Moritz Seider to pick up an assist seems like some really nice value.

Seider has 39 assists this season and leads the Red Wings for assists.

Following a string of 11 games that saw him only score 1 assist, he bounced back last time out racking up 2 assists for himself, albeit in vain as his Red Wings lost 5-4 to the Rangers.

This is a difficult game to call between two poor teams, we will side with the Red Wings just because they are at home, the Red Wings to win 4-3.

NHL Pick: Moritz Seider Assist (+100) with The Top Rated Sportsbooks

Moritz Seider Assist (+100)
