UFC Lightweight Main Card Bout

Tony “El Cucuy” Ferguson (25-6-0) has been on the wrong side of success since 2019 when his 12-fight win streak was put to sleep by this weekend’s lightweight championship challenger Justin Gaethje.
Perhaps the age of "El Cucuy" is catching up with him as longevity aged 38-years-old isn’t going to be the same as it once was. However, with a highly diverse set of skills, Ferguson is still capable of putting on a show, and despite falling out of the top-10 lightweight rankings.

Michael Chandler (22-7-0) has garnered significant amounts of respect from the UFC fan base since joining the promotion in 2021. Historical battles with the current champion Charles Oliveira and the challenger Justin Gaethje may have positioned Chandler in a 2-fight losing streak.
Still, the heart, determination, and skill level he delivered during these bouts are deserving of the utmost respect.
It worries me that Ferguson is on a career decline during this time of his professional MMA tenure, but there’s one glaring factor about "El Cucuy" that rarely fades, and that would be his toughness.
Likewise, Chandler is a tough S.O.B. During his pro MMA career. The former Bellator champion has been stopped inside of 5 minutes on a mere two occasions - this is a recommendable feat from more than 30 professional bouts on his record.
The available UFC odds with Bookmakers Review expect Chandler to walk out as the victor. Although it’s tough to agree – because nobody wants to fade Tony Ferguson – I understand why.
With that said, I’m not interested in paying juice on Chandler, but I do expect the respective toughness of both these men could draw this fight out into the later rounds.
I believe we could see a lot more grappling in this contest, therefore causing a potential stalemate between rounds. With the over/under priced reasonably, for my UFC betting picks, I’ll take my chances on this fight surpassing the 7-minute mark.

UFC Lightweight Preliminary Bout
Saturday, May 07, 2022- 10:05 PM EDT at Footprint Center
Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone (36-16-0) will kick off the UFC 274 pay-per-view main card festivities on Saturday evening, and despite failing to win a fight since 2019, the legendary status of Cowboy will always remain.
Between Joe Lauzon (28-15-0) and Cowboy, they have more than 25 years of experience inside a UFC octagon, competing at the highest level for a combined 90-plus professional bout. Like Cowboy, Lauzon has struggled to find consistency in the latter stage of his career, but a round 1 knockout last time out could be a positive sign of things to come.
The muay thai striking style of Donald Cerrone has handed this man countless bonus awards and a substantial number of stoppage victories. His striking offense is lethal, but it also produces a lack of head movement, leaving him open to suffering knockout stoppages on the other end.
Lauzon is well rounded but will also be willing to exchange strikes versus the longevity of Cowboy, which is seemingly the more concerning, in terms of durability, of the two.
The available UFC odds available at the top-rated sportsbooks on the moneyline aren’t of any interest to me; the questionable durability of both legends is where my sights are set.
The over/under is, again, giving us a respectable price. I can’t envision Cowboy surviving 15 minutes inside a UFC cage for the rest of his career. Likewise, Lauzon is on the back end of his career, and I wouldn’t be surprised to witness either man receive a knockout shot within the first five minutes.
