Russell Wilson’s time in Seattle could be coming to an end.
According to several reports, including one from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Wilson is open to being traded.
“Russ wants to know his options. I’m not saying he’s definitely going to go, but he wants to look around and see,” Rapoport said via Sports Illustrated. “If you’re Seattle, it’s the same problem they’ve had the last few years. Even if they get a great offer, who is actually going to be their quarterback and how quickly can they rebuild? Because Pete Carroll is going to be 71, and he doesn’t want it to be a full-year rebuild. I wouldn’t rule out a trade, but it has to be a no-brainer and they have to know the answer to the next question as well.”
Where Wilson could land is up in the air but on a recent episode of “The Kevin Sheehan Show,” Sheehan revealed that Wilson is “not against” going to Washington.
“I did talk to a few people in Vegas,” Sheehan said, via Audacy. “And the only thing that I will tell you is something that I feel confident in, based on the sources, and that is that Russell Wilson is not against being traded to Washington.
Wilson, 33, is under contract with the Seahawks through the 2023 NFL season. However, after ending the season with a losing record (7-10) for the first time in a decade (2011), it seems that a rebuild could be in the Seahawks’ plans.
Not to mention that a franchise quarterback is the only piece that Washington is missing and Wilson could be that guy.

Now the question is, ‘What would Wilson’s price tag look like?’
Ben Standig of The Athletic recently responded to a fan’s question in his mailbag about whether or not Washington would consider using defensive end Chase Young in a trade for a QB.
“I think almost anyone on the roster is available if the result is Washington improving at quarterback,” Standig wrote. “In Young’s case, that would be the Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson level.”
The 2020 No. 2 overall draft pick posted 7.5 sacks, and 44 total tackles, including 10 tackles for loss during his rookie year. He also added 12 quarterback hits, four pass defenses, four forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and a touchdown in his first NFL season.
Young’s 2021 season was a different story as he landed on injured reserve with a torn ACL after Week 10, but has been rehabbing and says he’s feeling good. Meanwhile, other trade proposals have teams giving up a first-round pick for Wilson and some even multiple first-round picks.
Since joining the league in 2012, Wilson has a 104-53-1 record, has reached two Super Bowls, winning Super Bowl XLVIII during the 2013 season, and has made the postseason in all but one of his seasons (2017).
