Two teams that are trying to secure their playoff spots will battle as the Los Angeles Clippers travel to Cleveland to take on the Cavaliers. Both teams have had some struggles in their last five games and with the playoffs approaching fast this game takes on added importance.
Let’s take a closer look at the NBA odds to see if we can cash in again tonight.

The unexpected success this Cleveland Cavaliers team has had this season is built on the back of their elite defense. Their offense isn't bad but injuries have really taken their toll on this young team. This is a season where every NBA team has had to deal with player absence. The thing is, for Cleveland, they didn't have any expectation of being a contender. The fact that they are still in a position to qualify for the playoffs shows you that this season is no fluke.

Tonight, the Cavs are -5.5 point favorites at home against the Clippers. That's a sharp line because it is right under that two-possession threshold. Cleveland has lost by double digits on the road in consecutive games so this is a pretty big number.
The total opened at 211.5 and now sits at 211 at most of the top online sportsbooks. If you like the Cavs here, they've been good against the spread (ATS) all season with a 37-28-2 record. As for the total, 62% of Cleveland's games play to the under on the season.
Much like the Cavs, the Clippers' success has to be considered unexpected. With both Paul George and Kawhi Leonard unavailable, this team is still in the hunt for a playoff berth. It's just another example of Ty Lue being a much better coach than he gets credit for.

The Clippers are in a bit of a tough spot here having played last night. They also had to expend a lot of energy going down by double digits before ultimately fighting back midway through the 4th quarter to take the lead for good.
The Clippers have won 7 of their last 10 games behind one of the league's best defenses. They rank 8th in defensive efficiency while the Cavs rank 4th in the league. Both of these teams aren't particularly consistent on offense either so this does have the makings of a low-scoring game.
My official play is Clippers +5.5 (-110) which is available at Bovada (visit our Bovada Review). This line did open at +6 but the juice was -115 and that line was not available for long. If we're going by recent form, in their last 10 games, the Cavs' defense is ranked 21st in defensive efficiency. That's the main reason they've lost 7 of the last 10 games they've played.

The Clippers' defense has been 5th in efficiency in their last 10 and I think that tonight, they'll be able to hang around and maybe even win outright if they can get hot from downtown. Los Angeles is 6th in the league in three-point field goal percentage and if they are making them tonight, I expect them to cover here for our NBA picks.
NBA Pick: Clippers +5.5 (-110) at Bovada
