Philadelphia 76ers vs. Miami Heat

Saturday, March 05, 2022 – 08:00 PM EST at FTX Arena

Betting Preview

The Philadelphia 76ers are cruising right now. The 76ers are 4-0 with James Harden on the floor and have scored at least 123 points in every single game that Harden has played.

But now the 76ers will have their toughest test since activating James Harden. The 76ers will take on the Miami Heat, on the road, as slight underdogs at the NBA odds.

The Heat won’t have Kyle Lowry in the lineup but should have Jimmy Butler back after he missed the game against the Nets previously.

Anyway, the 76ers are starting to become a force on the offensive end. Joel Embiid has scored at least 20 points in every game since Harden’s return and he’s also dominating the defensive glass during this stretch too. James Harden is lighting up the stat sheet with at least 25 points in every game since joining the 76ers. He’s also racking up assists and has been a major help on the boards.

But it’s not just those two guys having success right now. Tyrese Maxey has also scored at least 21 points in each of the four games that Harden has played in. Maxey has been getting to the line at a high rate and filling up the box score with about 5 or so assists and rebounds per game as well.

Right now, the 76ers seem unstoppable. It’s the honeymoon phase.

The 76ers have been elite at getting to the line and you can thank Joel Embiid for that. However, Philadelphia will still struggle at earning offensive rebounds. But even with the lack of offensive rebounds, the 76ers have done a great job at limiting turnovers. Shot attempts are still coming in.

The Miami Heat also get to the line at a high rate. The Heat earns 27.4% offensive rebounds and shoots an effective field goal percentage of 54.5%. Miami also scores 113.8 points per 100 possessions, which is in the top third of the league.

Prediction

Despite the Heat defeating the Nets in Kevin Durant’s return, I still like the 76ers here. Both teams have been red hot and elite, but knowing Butler missed the game previously and also knowing the Heat will be without Kyle Lowry doesn’t help.

The 76ers should see this game as important knowing the Heat are ahead of the 76ers by a few games in the standings.

I don’t want to fix what’s not broken. Backing the 76ers right now has been a moneymaker. On the road, the 76ers are still slight underdogs for the top-rated sportsbooks and I’m all for it.

Give me the 76ers as underdogs and watch them protect the ball, get plenty of shot attempts, and head to the foul line at a high rate.
