I've made posts like this in the past. Just some simple tips on how to stretch out your Dollar.

1) Eat out less frequently. And if you eat out, try to go when you get a Discount.
...Eating at restaurants is just not economical. On occasion, go and enjoy yourself. Just understand that in general, you're not getting 100-cents on the Dollar.
...Take a high-end pizza shop, as an example. How can one justify > $20 for a pizza? Are you getting that much satisfaction from dining out?

2) More shopping at the grocery store.
...Grocery business is a low margin game. If you buy from a grocery store, one can have the knowledge that you're purchasing at a price only 2 to 4% above Cost of Goods Sold.
...Same as item #1, try to shop for Discounts/coupons. Chance to get good Bang for the Buck.

3) Don't buy magazines/books, unless you have to.
...The prices have gone to the moon. You'd have to be insane to purchase weekly/monthly mags.
...I bought two Football preview mags. Steele/Lawrence, first time I bought in five years. The costs have mooned from $6 to $16 (or more).
...And the entertainment magazines? Please, pure junk, spare me.
