HS Kids have wild party on Baseball trip - parents blaming coaches

Simple version of the story - a bunch of 16-18 year old little rich snots from the schools highly ranked baseball team go to Georgia to play in a tourney. Kids go have a drink and drug fueled rager - and parents are blaming the COACHES for not taking better care of their kids - and jeopardizing scholarships as the kids are suspended from play.

Yea - it’s the COACHES fault your 17 year old little snot is irresponsible. They should have been sitting there telling them “this is wrong”. Worse - parents are complaining that they were asked to NOT stay at the same hotel as the team (both to alleviate issues of room availability since the hotel could not handle all parents of all the schools staying there and to allow the team to participate in team activities without “outside” parties) - saying this allowed the kids to “get away with it”.

Sorry - if your 16-17 years old your going to college in less than 2 years….seniors will be there in 3 months. What do the parents think - a college is going to hold their kids hands all year telling them what to do or not to do ? No - they are damn near adults. If they want to illegally drink/do drugs - they are going to do it.

Gotta love “rich” people - finding ways to blame everyone else for any problem they encounter and protecting their “innocent” children/

It’s always someone else’s fault these days

Same story with teens/ppl disobeying the police & escalating things or just committing crimes in general, and here come the parents (usually the mother) talking about what a great kid her son was, despite always being in trouble and just murdering someone

Parenting skills have become non-existant these days.
On weekends or on school breaks, the number of break-ins skyrockets in our city.

Teenagers out raging and stealing. Parents are clueless.

Beat their a$$ if they screw off. Parents not using corporal punishment anymore has led to less respect for society by these punks.

I love it when you hear all these stories of kids in “the ‘hood” running wild.

This is as far from “the ‘hood” as you can get - very upper class area of Columbus, Ohio - this is where your professors at OSU and CEO types live.

If I remember right - same district - different school made headlines about years ago - bunch of 8th graders in home ec decided to make a “special surprise” for their teachers - so the little bastards all went and JO’d into a sandwich baggie and then put it in the batter before baking the cake/someone reported it - but not until after it had been eaten.

Now as comical as it was - still wrong. But again - parents in an uproar - crying that the school wasn’t watching their kids. I guarantee if that had happened in school in my day - not only would we have not graduated - it we’d be doing summer school and spending a year of weekends in a homeless shelter/kitchen. These little entitled bastards get DEFENDED.

100% they move on to some frat - and either wind up subject of an underage rape investigation or have failed out in 2 years and living at home in between protest campouts.
