Europe’s premier competition returns this week and there are some crucial group games featuring many of the continent’s leading lights. Ajax can seal qualification to the last 16 with victory over AEK Athens on Tuesday night, and the 10/13 that 10Bet is offering on an away win for Ajax looks great as the Greek side have lost all four group games so far. Juventus also need a win to surge through to the next round and they should be able to beat Valencia, while Man Utd should dispatch Young Boys and Man City can gain revenge against Lyon for an upset they suffered earlier this season. On Wednesday, Atletico Madrid should destroy a woeful Monaco side, while Borussia Dortmund have the ability to rip Club Brugge apart. Tottenham host Inter Milan and victory would blow their group wide open, so the 17/20 on offer for a Spurs win at Betfair looks great.
The Europa League takes centre stage on Thursday as Celtic travel to Norway to take on Rosenborg. The Scottish champions are back in business after a superb win over RB Leipzig last time out, and the 3/4 at 188Bet on a Celtic win looks great as Rosenborg have lost all four games so far. Real Betis and Olympiakos will lock horns in a huge six-pointer at the top of their group and both teams to score looks attractive at even money with William Hill, Ladbrokes and various others. Sevilla are also well priced at 17/20 to win away at struggling Belgian side Standard Liege as they bid to seal qualification for the next stage of the tournament.
Deontay Wilder v Tyson Fury
The WBC title is on the line when these two unbeaten heavyweights clash at the Staples Center in Las Vegas on Saturday. Wilder is the favourite after winning all 40 fights, 39 of them by knockout, and he now is best priced at just 5/8 with Marathon Bet. The odds on Fury have drifted out to 6/4 at Sky Bet and Betfair and he is attracting a lot of betting action in the UK. He has also never tasted defeat and the highlight of his career came when he toppled the legendary Wladimir Klitschko in 2015 to become world champion. A prolonged absence ensued as he wrestled with personal demons and drug issues, but now he is back and he has a shot at returning to the top of the game. He has the defensive nous to cause Wilder real problems and if his fitness holds up it should be a captivating fight.
UK Snooker Championship
The UK Championship (sponsored by Betway) starts in York on Tuesday and it runs until December 9, with £170,000 going to the winner and a total prize purse of £850,000. Defending champion Ronnie O’Sullivan is the 3/1 favourite with Bet365 and various others, while Mark Allen and Judd Trump are attracting a lot of attention at 20/1 and 8/1, respectively.
Toronto Raptors at Golden State Warriors
A huge game takes place in the NBA on Thursday night as Eastern Conference leaders Toronto take on outright favourites for glory Golden State. The Warriors are bidding to win the NBA Championship for a third straight season and they look all but certain to vanquish their opponents in the Western Conference and surge into a fifth consecutive NBA Finals. They could well meet the Raptors there, as Kawhi Leonard and co have stood head and shoulders above the rest so far in the east, so it will be fascinating to see how this game unfolds.
