Arman Tsarukyan: Fighter Analysis
- Record: 18-2-0
Since dropping his UFC debut to one of the planet's most dominant 155lb fighters, Islam Makhachev, Arman Tsarukyan has been unstoppable inside the octagon. The 25-year-old most recently stopped fellow rising stars Christos Giagos and Joel Alvarez via ground strikes. Tsarukyan has accumulated a 5-fight win streak and is now breaking the top-10 rankings of the lightweight division.
To his credit, Tsarukyan gave Makhachev one of his most difficult challenges to date. This bout, ended in a decision victory for Makhachev, was also gifted with Fight of the Night honors due to the masterclass both men delivered.
The fact that Tsarukyan is just 25 years old is a scary thought when contemplating this youngster's future in MMA. He’s undoubtedly the future of the lightweight division, and don’t be surprised if we witness the rematch between himself and Makhachev one day, but next time it could be with a championship on the line.

Mateusz Gamrot: Fighter Analysis
- Record: 20-1-0
Having trained alongside Tsarukyan at American Top Team, Poland’s standout lightweight competitor Mateusz Gamrot could be entering next week's main event with a level of knowledge of his opponent's fighting style.
Gamrot, 31, started his journey into mixed martial arts on the wrestling mats in 2002. His accolades in European and World Championship wrestling competitions are endless. Since he transitioned to professional MMA in 2012, Gamrot has achieved multiple KSW championships and a mere one loss on his record.
Similar to his opponent, Gamrot dropped his UFC debut to then go on a winning streak. Winning his three previous fights has also provided fight fans with 3 stoppages, as Gamrot wasn’t willing to allow a judge’s opinion to become involved.
Mateusz Gamrot MMA Accomplishments
- UFC Performance of the Night (Two times) vs. Scott Holtzman and Jeremy Stephens
- UFC Fight of the Night (One time) vs. Guram Kutateladze
- Fastest kimura submission finish in UFC history (65 seconds) vs. Jeremy Stephens

- KSW Featherweight Champion

UFC Vegas 57: Tsarukyan vs. Gamrot Breakdown
Tsarukyan Style and How Can He Defeat Gamrot
An experienced grappler will once again test the grappling offense of Tsarukyan in Gamrot. Still, after watching the Makhachev bout, it’s difficult to believe that Gamrot can present Tsarukyan with more danger in this realm.
Grappling aside, I believe Tsarukyan could own an advantage of the feet. Though he tends to throw a lot of single strikes, we can only imagine his striking offense will evolve whilst training at Tiger Muay Thai.
Gamrot Fight Style and How Can He Defeat Tsarukyan
Gamrot’s best work is usually performed on the mat, but I’ve noticed his opponents haven’t struggled to return to their feet using scrambles. I don’t anticipate a fight where he’d find success in keeping Tsarukyan grounded, and with that in mind, where can Gamrot capitalize?
For me, it’s a submission finish or bust for the Polish fighter. I believe Gamrot is the lesser talented fighter in all areas, but this is still a fight, and his blast double leg takedowns and explosiveness could be enough to catch Tsarukyan inside the distance.
Tsarukyan vs. Gamrot: Betting Pick and Prediction
The available sports betting odds at Bookmakers Review favor Tsarukyan, and if you watch the Makhachev fight alone, you’ll understand why.
Aged 25, Tsarukyan is consistently evolving, and I can’t visualize anybody outside of the top-5 rankings giving this prospect any problems.
The moneyline odds on Tsarukyan are quite juicy, but he can also make the perfect parlay addition.
