As our last card of the 2021 year, UFC Vegas 45 definitely finished with a bang. Not only was it a card filled with finishes inside the distance, but it was a very profitable night as well.

Derrick Lewis vs. Chris Daukaus

Main Event

The UFC Odds at your top sportsbooks were: Derrick Lewis (+120) and Chris Daukaus (-140).

In my UFC Prediction, I mentioned how I loved the dog-value on Lewis and how he’s going to redeem himself after his loss against Ciryl Gane from back in August 2021. And he did exactly that with a knockout finish in the first round on Saturday night.

It was as simple as he always made it look. We saw a patient Derrick Lewis who found his right opening and let loose. Lewis grazed a wicked jumping kick to Daukaus’ head, followed by hooks. Daukaus was doing all he could to cover himself up, but Lewis landed a knee to the body.

A swarm of three punches to drop Daukaus, and he was out! Derrick Lewis won via KO 3:36 inthe first round, showing once again why he is one of the greatest UFC Heavyweights.

This just makes me think, if Lewis were more aggressive towards Gane, could he have won that fight?

Closing Remarks and What’s Next?

UFC Vegas 45 was a very profitable card. Listed are all of the main card winners and their value: Cub Swanson (-190), Mateusz Gamrot (-180), Ricky Simon (-275), Amanda Lemos (-300), Belal Muhammad (+180), and Derrick Lewis (+120).

For the preliminary card, the only dog-winner to make it out on top was Melissa Gatto (+145) via T/KO.

Up next in the UFC will be UFC Vegas 46: Calvin Kattar vs. Giga Chikadze on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Stay tuned to Bookmakers Review for more UFC Picks.
