The entire UFC London main card was filled with numerous jaw-dropping finishes. We saw a clean knockout from Ilia Topuria, a first-round submission from Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett, another first-round T/KO from Arnold Allen, and yet another first-round finish by submission from the amazing Tom Aspinall.

However, the one fighter on that main card that left me speechless – and even emotional – was Molly McCann. She had a wicked third-round finish over Luana Carolina; so for this week, we will recap the incredible performance of Meatball McCann. Read below for my recap.

Molly McCann vs. Luana Carolina

UFC Women’s Flyweight Bout – Main Card

The UFC Odds for this bout were Molly McCann (-145) and Luana Carolina (+115) at your top-rated sportsbooks at BMR.

From the moment Molly McCann began her walk out, I could feel through my TV screen all the emotion and the energy coming from not only from Molly but from the crowd as well.

At the start of round one, Meatball was not hesitant to pressure Carolina with her punches and clinch work. Carolina returned with her long and dangerous knees; she then aimed for a leg kick, but McCann connected with a right hook. Molly continued with her forward pressure, found her moment, and connected with a spinning elbow! The ladies exchange strikes until the end of the round.

The second round began with the same energy the first round ended. However, instead of keeping the fight standing, McCann switched levels and brought the fight to the ground. McCann was working half guard, landing knees to the body of Carolina.

Nothing much was happening on the ground, so Molly stood back up; Carolina eventually followed. McCann continued her aggressive pressure with her striking; they clinched up but Carolina was landing some nice knees.

Final Round

Now the final round. Right off the bat again, the two are at it. And before you know it, with beautiful timing and technique, Molly McCann landed the cleanest spinning elbow and knocked out Luana Carolina COLD. What a dang finish!!!

Molly celebrated her finish by jumping out of the cage; she ran to Dana White and gave him a hug, then proceeded back to celebrating and getting her hand raised.

Molly McCann defeated Luana Carolina via KO (spinning elbow), Round 3, 1:52

Closing Remarks and What’s Next?

Molly McCann is a very impressive fighter, and definitely deserves some more recognition for her talents. I see her rising through the UFC Women’s Flyweight rankings fast, so I’m very excited for her future within the promotion.
