Paddy Pimblett vs. Jordan Leavitt

UFC Lightweight Main Card Bout

Saturday, July 23, 2022 – 04:25 PM EDT at O2 Arena

Fighter Analysis

Paddy Pimblett

The people's main event returns to London for his second native appearance on a London Fight Night card in 2022, and when the UK's most hyped MMA star, Paddy "The Baddy" Pimblett (18-3-0), makes his walk to the octagon this weekend, you can guarantee an ovation like no other.

Pimblett has enjoyed his stay under the UFC banner, winning his first two fights inside the first five minutes and displaying that he can end a fight via TKO and submission.

Jordan Leavitt

Jordan Leavitt (10-1-0) is walking into the lion’s den by facing Pimblett on British soil, and as a fellow Englishman of the fifth Beatle, I must tip my hat to the American for taking this contest.

We haven’t seen much from Leavitt thus far, but a 3-1 UFC record has earned him a big-name fight that could propel his net worth should he leave London with a victory.

UFC London Parlay Prediction

Behind the hype of Paddy Pimblett, naturally, we’re witnessing a plethora of hate that stems from the expert MMA handicapping community who’ve never laced up a pair of gloves in their life. And although I agree that Pimblett won’t be a future champion of the division and his skill set presents multiple flaws, the UFC is drip-feeding him some of the most basic fighters the lightweight division has to offer.

No disrespect towards Leavitt, but he’s entering this contest with zero wrestling ability, a questionable gas tank, and some of the worst striking offenses I’ve witnessed at 155lbs.

I believe this fight is tailor-made for the Liverpudlian, and the competition level has dropped down a notch from his previous outing versus Rodrigo Vargas.

The available UFC odds with Bookmakers Review are receiving a ton of action on the betting favorite, and I equally can’t argue the current line on Pimblett. I’d say that a -400 range would still be offering value because I cannot envision a world where Leavitt can outperform the Brit.

Volkan Oezdemir vs. Paul Craig

UFC Light Heavyweight Bout

Saturday, July 23, 2022 – 03:10 PM EDT at O2 Arena

Fighter Analysis

Volkan Oezdemir

Put some respect on the name of Volkan Oezdemir (17-6-0), please. The 32-year-old may have lost his previous two appearances inside the octagon.

Still, I believe that critics and oddsmakers alike are disrespecting the man who waltzed into the UFC and defeated three of the light heavyweight division's top finishers.

Sure, Oezdemir has stumbled upon hard times, but his UFC losses have been against a top-tier level of competition, and his UFC London opponent doesn’t fall into this category.

Paul Craig

Paul Craig (15-4-1) is receiving some hype, and the Scotsman deserves it. He’s on a 5-fight win streak, and he’s stopped his opponents inside the distance each time.

However, don’t allow his recent record to dictate your future predictions. Craig just isn’t the well-rounded martial artist you want to put your money behind.

UFC London Parlay Prediction

Oezdemir boasts some of the most impressive takedown defense in the light heavyweight division, and once you compile this fact with Craig’s basic striking skills, you have a recipe for a 5-fight win streak that’s about to be snapped.

With that said, Craig somehow manages to pull off the craziest submissions from some of the most unorthodox positions we’ve witnessed a 205lb fighter get in. This points me straight towards the over/under proposition market, where we’re almost guaranteed a winning ticket whenever Craig is involved.

The available UFC odds at our top-rated sportsbooks favor Oezdemir. Although I love this moneyline price of -150, we’ll take precautions and rely on Craigs' history of barely reaching a judge’s scorecard.

Craig is going to win by submission, or he isn’t, and if the latter occurs, I have no doubt we’ll be watching Oezdemir punch his way into a KO/TKO victory.
