The UFC will head to Singapore this weekend for UFC 275. Glover Teixeira and Valentina Shevchenko look to defend their championship titles against some of the toughest rising contenders within the promotion.
So, in honor of our title bouts, I will share with you my analysis for the co-main and main events. Read below for my best bets for Valentina Shevchenko vs. Taila Santos and Glover Teixeira vs. Jiri Prochazka.
Valentina Shevchenko vs. Taila Santos
UFC Women’s Flyweight Co-Main Bout
Saturday, June 11, 2022 – 10:00 PM EDT at Singapore Indoor Stadium
Who is Valentina Shevchenko?
Valentina Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian mixed martial artist with a professional record of 22 wins (8 T/KO, 7 Submissions, 7 Decisions) and 3 losses (1 T/KO, 2 Decisions).
Shevchenko is the current UFC Women’s Flyweight Champion with six successful title defenses. She holds victories over former UFC champions Holly Holm, Julianna Peña, Joanna Jędrzejczyk, and Jessica Andrade.
"Bullet" is an incredibly talented and strong fighter that has been undefeated in her last eight bouts. She is lethal on the feet and on the ground, and there still has yet been a contender that has even appeared to be capable of defeating the Champ.
Who is Taila Santos?
Taila Santos is a Brazilian mixed martial artist with a professional record of 19 wins (10 T/KO, 3 Submissions, 6 Decisions) and 1 loss (1 Decision).
Santos' only loss was in 2019 against Mara Romero Borella by split decision. She is a very powerful striker that is also not afraid to scramble on the ground or search for a tap-out.
Shevchenko vs. Santos: Odds and Prediction
Although Taila Santos is a resilient prospect, it is very hard to fade Shevchenko. They both match up very well in terms of their skill sets; they both are technical and powerful in their striking, and they also are open to switching levels to take the fight in a different direction.
The lack of experience in the championship rounds is what worries me. Valentina is a powerful and confident woman that is not afraid to get into a nasty scrap.
Shevchenko vs. Santos: Betting Pick for UFC 275
Santos will do everything she can to land a clean punch to finish Shevchenko, but it will not be easy.
Later into the rounds, I see Santos tiring. Shevchenko will be able to have her way and will still look fresh by the end of the fight.
I do not think this fight will end early as both women are as durable as cement. Take the current champ to win by points.
Glover Teixeira vs. Jiri Prochazka
UFC Light Heavyweight Main Event Bout
Saturday, June 11, 2022 - 10:00 PM EDT at the Singapore Indoor Stadium
Who is Glover Teixeira?
Glover Teixeira is a Brazilian mixed martial artist with a current professional record of 33 wins (18 T/KO, 10 Submission, 5 Decisions) and 7 losses (3 T/KO, 4 Decisions).
Teixeira is the current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion and is on a 6-fight winning streak. As a veteran in the UFC with a black belt in both BJJ and Kajunkenbo, Teixeira has proven his talents both on the feet and on the mat.
Who is Jiri Prochazka?
Jiri Prochazka is a Czech martial artist with a professional record of 28 wins (25 T/KO, 2 Submissions, 1 Decision), 3 losses (2 T/KO, 1 Submission), and 1 Draw.
Prochazka is definitely a power puncher and a Muay Thai specialist. In his two UFC bouts, he holds knockout victories over Volkan Oezdemir and Dominick Reyes, both in the second round.
Teixeira vs. Prochazka: Odds and Prediction
The current betting odds for this matchup are Glover Teixeira +175 and Jiri Prochazka -205 at the best betting sites.
I definitely give the grappling advantage to Teixeira in this one. In his past couple of fights, despite coming out victorious, he has taken a lot of damage.
Jiri is a fighter that will hunt down his opponent and finish them. 25 out of his 28 victories have been knockouts.
Teixeira vs. Prochazka: Betting Pick for UFC 275
I will not underestimate the power Teixeira still holds, but he is not as fast as he once was. Teixeira's path to victory will be to get Jiri on the ground and submit him.
Otherwise, I see Jiri winning this fight inside the distance. Teixeira has shown his chin can break, and I think Jiri is another fighter with the capability of stripping this title.
UFC Pick: Jiri Prochazka to Win Inside the Distance (-160) at BetOnline
