“The Gorilla” Darren Till has been the fighting pride of Liverpool, England for some time; his quirky and sometimes vulgar personality has won over the UFC fans. But don’t be fooled by Till’s antics; the 28-year-old Merseyside bad-boy possesses a dangerous mixed martial arts skillset that has placed him within the UFC middleweight division top-10 rankings for the previous four years.
A background in Muay Thai saw Till travel to Thailand and train with some of the greats during his teenage years, and this experience becomes evident once his striking output is let loose inside the cage. Ten of Till’s 18 professional MMA victories have resulted in a TKO/KO, a fluid Muay Thai base from a southpaw stance is the Englishman’s main weapon when the cage door closes.

The polar opposite of his opponent this weekend, Derek Brunson, Is a wrestling-based martial artist who enjoys dragging the opposition to the ground and delivering a world of punishment. As a 3-time Division II All-American wrestler, Brunson has heavily relied on his wrestling background throughout his professional MMA career.
Having competed for Strikeforce until their merger with the UFC in 2012, Brunson is undoubtedly a veteran of the game and has fought some of the worlds most elite martial artists. And outside of his wrestling chops, the 37-year-old owns a level of knockout power that can disrupt the durability of anyone.
Till vs. Brunson Betting Odds and UFC in Vegas 36 Best Bets
The bookmaker's current odds are slightly favored towards Darren Till at -167. The line has slightly moved from the original opening odds of -138. This should be expected with Darren Till’s effective wrestling defense.
In addition, Till has proven his ability to regain a standing position after being taken down in the past and is undoubtedly the more talented striker of the two. We can’t for the 10-year age gap that should also favor the Englishman.
Derek Brunson will need to initiate his offensive wrestling, or he could be in for a long night. Should Till sprawl the takedown attempts, I do not doubt that he will outclass Brunson in the striking realm.
For the reasons listed above, it’s hard to ignore Darren Till in this position. Even if Brunson can land his takedowns, I can’t envision his top control keeping Till grounded for the duration of a 25-minute contest.
