We are a week into the tournament and only one of the top 10 seeds remains on the women’s side here at the French Open in Roland Garros.

On the men’s side, the big guns remain. As the field thins out and the cream is rising to the top, let’s take a look at today’s action to find more winning tennis picks.

Karen Khachanov vs. Carlos Alcaraz

Sunday, May 29, 2022 – 02:45 PM EDT at Court Philippe Chatrier

Karen Khachanov Analysis

Karen Khachanov has dropped a set in each of his first three matches but he is here in the round of 16 at the French Open.

Khachanov was able to outlast Cam Norrie in their 3rd round battle. Norrie looked tired and fatigued from the start of the match, and Khachanov took advantage.

Khachanov won 52% of his second-serve points compared to only 34% for Norrie. Khachanov also saved an inordinate amount of breakpoints(16-21).

I don't think Khachanov will be able to save as many opportunities against his opponent today, Carlos Alcaraz.

Khachanov will need to be better on his first serve and not put himself into these positions.

Carlos Alcaraz Analysis

After a five-set battle against Albert Ramos where he was almost ousted from the tournament, Carlos Alcaraz came back with a workmanlike victory over Sebastian Korda.

I expected this to be a close match between two young up-and-coming clay players, but Carlos Alcaraz showed that he is head and shoulders above Sebastian Korda in their levels of development.

At no point in the match did Korda ever feel like he was threatening Alcaraz and it felt more like a practice match or warm-up for Carlos Alcaraz rather than a true contest at the highest level of competition.

This, once again, demonstrates the reason everybody is so high on Carlos Alcaraz's future in the sport of tennis.

Carlos Alcaraz can be threatened by the all-time greats, but against the other players of his age and stature, he is clearly two levels above.

Khachanov vs. Alcaraz ATP Betting Pick

Karen Khachanov is a veteran and he will not concede this match easily. However, the clay is not his best surface, and going against Carlos Alcaraz, who played so well on the clay, this will be a tough task for the Russian veteran.

Alcaraz can win this match fairly easily as he did against Korda. Albert Ramos kind of tricked us into thinking Alcaraz was vulnerable because he is such a tough matchup for any opponent.

He is a left-hander who specializes in playing on the clay. Going against a player like Karen Khachanov, who is at his best on the hard courts, will be another advantage matchup for Alcaraz.

Who to Bet On?

Other than simply not finding his normal level of play, it is hard to see how Alcaraz does not win this match easily. Our first best bet for today's French Open is Carlos Alcaraz -7.5 games.

Jil Teichmann vs. Sloane Stephens

Sunday, May 29, 2022 - 10:15 AM EDT at Court Suzanne Lenglen

Sloane Stephens Analysis

The 2018 US Open Champion Sloane Stephens is back to her winning Grand Slam form. After dropping a set in each of their first two matches, Sloane rolled over hometown hero Diane

Parry, ending the Cinderella story for the French qualifier. Sloane Stephens' all-court game and penchant for raising her level play in the spotlight shone through.

She will now face her toughest test of the tournament, however, against an in-form Jil Teichmann Jil Teichmann has had a tougher path to get to the 4th round today.

Jil Teichmann Analysis

Beating Vika Azarenka is much more impressive than a win over Diane Parry. Teichmann has had an excellent clay court season.

Teichman reached the semifinals in Madrid and the quarterfinals in Rome in the lead-up to the French Open.

She then dispatched the very skilled and talented Victoria Azarenka in an ultra close match. Teichmann was able to prevail 4-6, 7-5, 7-6.

Teichmann's powerful two-handed backhand was the difference in the match. She was able to use precision and accuracy to move Azarenka around the court, and then use her advantage in court position to blast the winner.

Teichmann was calm under pressure and she showed that her recent level play was not a fluke.

Teichmann is playing the best tennis we have seen from her in her career at this point and has a chance to really make a mark here in this tournament where only one of the top 10 seeds remains.

Stephens vs. Jil Teichmann WTA Betting Pick

Although Sloane Stephens has the greater pedigree and probably the higher overall level of talent, it's hard to bet against Jil Teichmann the way she is playing right now.

Sloane Stephens has done well to advance this far, but she has not really achieved a notable victory.

Teichmann has been beating quality clay players this whole clay-court swing and comes into the match in the best form of her life.

Who to Bet On?

Unfortunately for Sloane, I think the charismatic American's tournament ends today. Our second best bet for the French Open is Jil Teichmann -3.5 games.
