Tennis Pick: Coco Gauff (+1200) at BetOnline (visit our BetOnline Review)

The tennis season is here! Tennis is not your normal sport as this season has been going on for 3 weeks and already one of the most prestigious events of the season will be here. That event is the Australian Open.
As oddsmakers and bettors have watched the tournaments for the last 2 weeks, there have been some changes to the WTA odds. Let’s take a look at some of the top players and where their odds are at.
Don’t forget to check out the Best US Sports Betting Sites to make all of your AO bets.
Iga Swiatek (+220)
Iga Swiatek is by far the best player in the world. Swiatek won the French Open and the US Open last season. She is also dominant at the Premier 1000 events.
Swiatek does better on slow surfaces. The slower surface gives her more time to wind up on her groundstrokes and take advantage of her opponent’s weaknesses. The Australian Open does play quicker, so this event will be more of a challenge, even for a player of Swiatek’s elite level of play.
Swiatek was able to prove she can prevail on hard courts at the Grand Slam level at the US Open. Now she will face a tougher challenge on the quicker surface. Still, she is the best player in the world, and getting her at this price cannot be looked past. I would recommend putting a wager on Iga Swiatek to win the Australian Open.
Aryna Sabalenka (+900)
Aryna Sabalenka comes into this match in excellent form. She cruised through the Adelaide Tournament, where she was able to win the title without dropping a set. Sabalenka is a power player whose power will be accentuated by the quicker surfaces of the Australian Open.
Bettors will be intrigued by this price for Sabalenka, especially with the dominating form that she showed last week. My concern for Sabalenka is that she has always had problems on the biggest stages. She has come into Grand Slam tournaments in excellent form before. She cruised through the early rounds before. Then she puts forth a terrible performance with all the eyes and pressure on her. With Sabalenka, I’ll have to see it to believe it.
I think this price here is accurate. If you’ve been watching Sabalenka and you think she’s got a chance to win, I wouldn’t argue with it. But I personally will not be placing a bet on Sabalenka for this tournament.
Jessica Pegula (+900)
Jessica Pegula is a hard-hitting American player who should do well on the quick hard courts. Pegula has continued to improve over the past couple of years and is now a top 10 player in the world. Pegula also had a recent breakthrough she beat Iga Swiatek at the United Cup.
Pegula is another player who has had problems in high-pressure situations. Also, she is not nearly the athlete that the rest of the top players in the world are. Pegula is proof that hard work can get you far in the world of tennis. However, sometimes her athletic limitations come into play against the world’s best.
While I will be rooting for Jessica Pegula, I don’t think a wager on her to win this tournament at this time is wise. There are too many other players who could raise their level of play to beat her.
Coco Gauff (+1200)
Coco Gauff is another player who excelled in the build-up to the Australian Open. She won the event in Auckland. She was absolutely dominant and did not drop a set en route to the title. Coco Gauff just continues to get better, and now at age 18, she could be poised for her breakout title.
Coco Gauff is a consistent player who has the athleticism to get almost every ball back. She plays excellent defense and makes it hard for opponents. Even on the quicker surface in Australia, it’s going to be hard to hit a winner against her. Coco also has a complete dedication to the game of tennis. A bet on Coco Gauff here is a good value at the price of +1200.
Danielle Collins (+3300)
Danielle Collins is by far the best long-shot tennis pick you can play in the Australian Open. Collins is an excellent player who has had success here in the past. Collins absolutely thrives in the hot conditions down here in Australia. What other players are wilting in the heat, Collins is getting strength from the sun beating down on her.
Collins’ fierce attitude makes her a threat to any player. Players know going against Collins they’re going to have to play every point because Collins is a grinder who never gives up. Danielle Collins is by far my favorite long shot to win the event.
