Following an exciting International break, we get back to regular business this weekend in the English Premier League. We must tread carefully as underdogs have historically done better following the International break. We have selected all plus money bets this week for our EPL betting picks.
Brighton & Hove Albion FC vs Brentford London FC
Saturday, September 11, 2021 – 10:00 AM EDT at Brentford Community Stadium
We are kicking things off with a battle in Brentford as Brighton looks to keep up their impressive start to the season following a total of six points from their opening three games. Let’s not forget the hosts who have been newly promoted into the Premier League and have impressively picked up five points from their opening three games and have yet to see defeat.
Last season Brighton had the highest xG numbers in the bottom half of the league, and we knew it was only a matter of time before they started to click, a top ten finish looks to be in order this season for the seagulls. In terms of this game, we think a draw could be on the cards here but a score draw is the most likely, a draw can be backed at +220.
However, we are taking Neal Maupay to get on the score sheet against his former team at +190 with Intertops (visit our Intertops Review) as our official play for this game. Maupay scored 41 times during his 90 games for Brentford and since joining Brighton he has racked up 20 goals in 77 games. Last season, he was slightly below par, only scoring 8 in 38 games, but this season he has kicked things off scoring twice in the opening three games.
Norwich City FC vs. Arsenal FC
Saturday, September 11, 2021 - 10:00 AM EDT at Emirates Stadium
Arsenal’s worst-ever start to a league campaign sees them sitting in the last place with zero points, zero goals scored and a total of 9 conceded. They spent more than any other club in the transfer market to date and to make matters worse their biggest rivals Tottenham sit top of the league table. Things really can’t get much worse for the Gunners and the only way is up.
It’s hard to see the Gunner not getting something out of this game and we believe this will finally be the game they pick up their first win of the season because this really is a do or die game, a draw here wouldn’t please anybody concerned with Arsenal.
Encouraging for the home side they haven’t lost to Norwich in the past eight meetings between the sides and have averaged a total of three goals per game. Norwich is just one place above Arsenal in the 19th because they scored 1 goal but conceded one more than the Gunners. It's also fair to say Arsenal most likely wouldn’t have conceded 5 against Man City if they didn’t go down to 10 men. Take Arsenal to win this and over 2.5 goals.
Aston Villa FC vs. CFC
Saturday, September 11, 2021 - 12:30 PM EDT at Stamford Bridge
Chelsea now looks the real deal following their signing of Romelu Lukaku over the summer and with Aston Villa set to be missing no less than seven players for this game (and two questionable) they could be in for a good trouncing from Chelsea in this early game kick off on Sunday. Lukaku has also scored in his previous five Premier League games against Aston Villa.
Villa have had a mixed start to this year’s campaign but all in all, they will be pleased to have picked up four points from their opening nine games considering the influx of new players they have added to their roster, including the out and out goalscorer Danny Ings.
This could be one of the most exciting games this weekend and Villa will give a good account of themselves, look to play the corners market in this game as we think Chelsea can easily rack up 6/7 corners in this game. Villa will get their chances also and for us taking over 10.5 corners at plus money is the way to play this game, also don’t be surprised to see Lukaku on the scoresheet.
Premier League Pick: Over 2.5 Corners at +110 with BetOnline
