Group F is very much an open group as all teams have a realistic chance of getting into the knockout phase, of course, the favorites are Croatia (the 2018 World Cup runners-up) and Belgium.

That said, both European nations have aging squads, whilst Canada and Morocco have a lot of top-level players at big clubs compared to their last World Cup appearances.

These teams might not be as bad as the best World Cup sportsbooks think, offering us +200 (Morocco) and +300 (Canada) for either team to finish first or second.

Morocco vs. Croatia

Wednesday, November 23, 2022 – 05:00 AM EST at Al Bayt Stadium

Preview

Morocco comes into this World Cup looking for some redemption, having finished bottom of their group in the 2018 edition. A group that included Iran, Spain, and Portugal.

The African team is currently on a 7-game undefeated stretch winning 5 and drawing twice.

The big matchup for Morocco will be Canada as the winner of that game has the best chance to make it into the knockout phase, that said they will need at least a tie, but preferably a win against either Croatia or Belgium.

Croatia surprised many pundits when making it to the 2018 World Cup finals, where they ultimately lost 4-2 to France. Croatia’s captain and midfielder Luka Modric was voted player of the tournament.

They followed up that with an appearance in next year’s 2023 Nations League Finals.

Morocco vs. Croatia: Betting Picks

Hakim Ziyech (Morocco)

  • +1 Shot On Target

Chelsea striker/winger Hakim Ziyech has not had much of an opportunity to ply his trade this season, having only played in 9 games across all competitions for Chelsea.

We suspect back on the world stage he will be chomping at the bone to get a shot in the limelight and we believe Ziyech to get 1+ shot on target at +150 is a value play. He is one of Morocco’s best attacking players and is the team's free-kick taker and backup penalty taker.

Ziyech has a very impressive goalscoring record for his country having netted 16 goals in 30 appearances.

Over 2.5 Goals

Both these teams have some strong attacking players and we understand why Over 2.5 goals is available to bet at +150 as this could be a tight game, but it also has the potential to see 3 or more goals. This is a strong value play as we are predicting both teams to score and over 2.5 goals for our soccer picks.

Essentially, we can’t see either team winning 3-0, most likely both teams will need to contribute if this game is to see 3+ match goals.

You could take both teams to score and the Over 2.5 at +180, but we believe just taking the Over 2.5 is a better option here, just in case either team does win 3-0.

Predicted Score: Morocco 1 - Croatia 2

Belgium vs. Canada

Wednesday, November 23, 2022 - 02:00 PM EST at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium

Preview

Both these teams are without 2 of their best players for this game, as Belgium has Romelu Lukaku on the injured list, and Canada is without arguably their best player Alphonso Davies, who plays his soccer in Germany with Bayern Munich.

Having finished 3rd in 2018, Belgium’s golden generation has this final chance to win the World Cup as their squad is aging and we suspect the majority of the 32+ year-olds won’t be at the next World Cup. It hasn’t been good preparation for them either, as they have gone 3 games without a win for the first time since 2014.

Canada is making their first World Cup appearance since 1986, they won’t have major aspirations of getting out of this group but will be determined to come 3rd at the very least.

Belgium vs. Canada: Betting Picks

  • Belgium -1.0 Handicap

Although Canada topped their qualifications group to make it to the World Cup, they did have one flaw and that was when they played on the road. We suspect that might come back to bite them here and we are more than happy to take Belgium -1.0 at the World Cup odds of -114.

It’s not that we expect a major Belgium victory but we think they will win this game at the very least meaning if only by one goal we will get a push. For us, Belgium keeps a clean sheet and covers the spread.

Predicted Score: Belgium 2 - Canada 0
