We head into another exciting weekend of Football in Europe this weekend as things are starting to heat up across the top European leagues.
We were just 1 Fiorentina goal shy of cashing our +480 parlay last weekend, but if you follow on Twitter, you will know we suggested hedging the bet for a profit of +2.1.
This weekend we have the biggest clash across Europe taking place when struggling Liverpool plays host to Man City. We expect goals in Berlin and finally a home victory in Spain. Check out what our +420 parlay selections are this weekend.
Liverpool FC vs. Manchester City FC
Sunday, October 16, 2022 – 11:30 AM EDT at Anfield
It’s been tough for Liverpool thus far this season and nobody can quite put their finger on the reason why as they currently sit in 10th position in the league.
Their defense is terrible right now and their strikers are struggling in front of the net, but they might have just turned things around midweek when they beat Rangers 7-1 on the road in the UEFA Champions League.
Roberto Firmino bagged 2 goals, Darwin Núñez 1, and Mo Salah scored an incredible 6-minute hat-trick.
Manchester City FC
Lucky or unlucky for Liverpool that Man City comes into this game having had their first goalless game last time out along with the fact Liverpool had their highest-scoring game.
Unfortunately, for Liverpool the goalless Man City draw was on the road in a game they didn’t really need to win and goalscoring machine Erling Haaland did not feature as he has been rested specifically for this game.
City is in a proper title fight this year with Arsenal currently leading the League and Tottenham breathing down their neck. This is a must-win game if they want to take the reins.
Betting Odds and Pick
Man City is on another level right now, already ahead of Liverpool by 13 points and with Haaland, in the form of his life (15 goals in 9 games), it’s hard to see Liverpool coming away with a result here even on home soil.
Man City has only won once in their previous four visits to Anfield. Haaland and company will be hoping to make it 2 in 5.
Following the Premier League odds, let's go with Man City to win this game.
Predicted Score: Liverpool 1 – 3 Man City
Premier League Pick: Manchester City Win (-125) at BetOnline (visit our BetOnline Review)
FC Union Berlin vs. Borussia Dortmund
Sunday, October 16 ,2022 – 11:30 AM EDT at Stadion An der Alten Försterei
FC Union Berlin
The surprise package in Germany this season, Union Berlin is currently top of the league and more importantly 4 points clear of Bayern Munich, who have won 16 of the previous 20 editions of the Bundesliga including 10 in a row.
Union has been incredibly strong at home this year, winning 3 of their 4 opening games, the other one being a 1-1 tie against Munich which is as good as a win for any team in this league.
Despite losing Haaland to Man City, Dortmund hasn’t done too bad thus far this year. They are currently level on points with Bayern Munich and looking like they have qualified from their Champions League group stage a win here would really get the Dortmund fans hopeful of their potential first league title since 2011-2012.
Betting Odds and Pick
6 of 7 Dortmund road games this season have witnessed over 2.5 goals scored and 7 of their previous 8 games against Union have seen 3+ goals scored.
It’s a must-win game for the visiting team and we believe this game will carry on the tradition with over 2.5 goals scored at Bundesliga odds of -110, which is considerable value in our opinion as we expect this market to go off around -120/-130 on matchday.
Predicted Score: FC Union Berlin 2 – 2 Borussia Dortmund
Bundesliga Pick: Over 2.5 (-110) at BetOnline
Real Betis Balompié vs. UD Almería
Sunday, October 16th, 2022 – 03:00 PM EDT at Estadio Benito Villamarín
Real Betis Balompié
Real Betis come into this home game with the best record on home soil in La Liga with 4 wins from 4 games. It’s been the road form that has let them down winning just 1 of 4 thus far this season.
Betis have failed to win their previous two La Liga games, although both were on the road. They will be eager to get back on home soil and pick up three points against a relegation battling Almería.
The second worst road form in the league isn’t exactly favorable heading to a stronghold like the Estadio Benito Villamarín. Almería has picked up just 1 point away from home all season and that happened to be against Elche who are currently bottom of the league with just 2 points in total.
Betting Odds and Pick
Although these two teams have not met competitively since 2014, Almería did win their previous two games on the road to Betis as underdogs at La Liga odds.
Times have changed and this really is a fixture we can’t see Betis not winning, at best this ends in a draw, we don’t believe Almería can pick up all 3 points in this situation.
Real Betis has won 8 of their previous 10 competitive home games, the other two were losses to Barcelona (expected) and Elche (unexpected). Let’s hope Betis can avoid one of the unexpected in this one.
Predicted Score: Real Betis 2 – 0 Almeria
La Liga Pick: Real Betis Win (-180) at BetOnline
