SSC Napoli vs. Torino FC

Saturday, October 01, 2022 – 09:00 AM EDT at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona

Serie A Trends

  • Napoli are unbeaten in 23 of their last 26 Serie A games
  • Napoli have won 3 consecutive Serie A games
  • Torino scores an average of 0.86 goals in their Serie A fixtures

Title Winning Formula

Napoli’s 2022/23 season has generated positive results after positive results. With some resting time during the international break, domestic soccer in Italy returns, and the table toppers from Naples will be overly confident after their successful win versus Milan before the break.

Napoli shattered a long-reigning unbeaten Serie A streak that Milan was holding on to; more impressively; this was achieved away from home.

The result allowed Napoli to remain in the first position of the standings, joint with Atalanta, and they’ve also swatted both Liverpool and Rangers in the Champions League to top that group as well.

A Twelve-Year Drought in Naples

Torino faces the daunting task of traveling to Naples this weekend to take on the most in-form squad in Italian soccer.

To make matters worse, Torino hasn’t won a game in Naples since 2009, and it’s been over seven years since they defeated Napoli whatsoever.

Sitting in the 9th position of the Serie A standings, Torino is holding on to a positive run from the beginning of the season.

However, recent results have seen a downtrend in their form, losing 3 of their last 4 games while scoring a mere two goals in the process.

SSC Napoli vs. Torino FC: Odds and Prediction

The Serie A betting odds favor the home team, and this doesn’t come as a surprise. Despite Napoli’s success and Torino’s downtrend, we can receive a great price on the home team's moneyline.

Napoli has been the team to beat thus far, providing a notable performance from both defensive and offensive stances.

They’re the better team by a mile and should take all three points from an untrustworthy Torino side.

Score Prediction: Napoli 2 - Torino 0

Paris Saint-Germain vs. OGC Nice

Saturday, October 1, 2022 - 03:00 PM EDT at Parc des Princes

Ligue 1 Trends

  • PSG is undefeated in 22 consecutive Ligue 1 home games
  • PSG have kept a clean sheet in 4 successive Ligue 1 fixtures
  • OGC Nice are unbeaten in 5 of their previous 6 Ligue 1 away games
  • OGC Nice have seen under 2.5 goals scored in 3 consecutive Ligue 1 games

PSG Is Too Much to Handle

Last time out, it took PSG all of five minutes before penetrating the net of Lyon with goals from Neymar and Lionel Messi. Kylian Mbappe didn’t get involved, but these three names alone should strike fear into every defense in Ligue 1, and the world for that matter.

The defending French champions will undoubtedly position the Champions League trophy as their main priority this season, but this won’t deflect their focus from defending the Ligue 1 title.

Christophe Galtier will understand that Marseille can take PSG’s first-place positioning on the table on Saturday.

Still, since he’s taken charge, this team has remained unbeaten at home in 25 consecutive Ligue 1 games.

Uncertain Times in Nice

Losing 4 of their previous 6 games in Ligue 1 competition, sitting in 13th place in the table, Lucien Farve hasn’t delivered the results the Nice board expected.

Replacing Galtier in the summer wasn’t easy shoes to fill, and now he’ll take his team into Paris and face the man who used to run this team.

Nice could see positivity in the absence of Kimpembe and Verratti from the PSG squad this weekend, but these absences aren’t going to prevent Messi and co from having their way in the final third.

Paris Saint-Germain vs. OGC Nice: Odds and Prediction

Unsurprisingly, the Ligue betting odds are heavily juiced in favor of the PSG moneyline; a -600 price tag isn’t justifiable for long-term bettors.

This forces us to look elsewhere, and I see value in the under 2.5 goals market, despite the attacking prowess sitting up front in PSG.

Nice have notably been tight in defense this term, and their primary concerns have undoubtedly pointed towards the attacking integrity of Farve’s team. PSG will win, but I don’t expect a scoreline exceeding one or two goals.

Score Prediction: PSG 2 - Nice 0
