Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Bayer 04 Leverkusen

Saturday, October 15, 2022 – 09:30 AM EDT at Deutsche Bank Park

Bundesliga Trends

  • Eintracht Frankfurt concedes an average of 1.57 goals in their home games.
  • Bayer Leverkusen has won just 1 of their last 7 away games in all competitions.

Raise Red Flags for Frankfurt

Sitting inside the top 8 of the Bundesliga table isn’t a bad position to be in, but Eintracht Frankfurt allowing 6 goals in their previous 2 games should raise the red flags for coach Oliver Glasner. Even more worryingly, Frankfurt’s previous domestic outing was an embarrassing 3-0 defeat to VfL Bochum – a team that’s rock bottom of the division and has conceded 23 goals through 9 matchdays.

Bochum celebrated their first win of the season as Frankfurt missed the opportunity to sit in 3rd place in the Bundesliga by squandering a seemingly simple 3-point victory against the worst-performing team in the league.

The misery continued for Glasner’s men during their midweek Champions League clash with Tottenham, a 3-2 loss positions them at the bottom of Group D as Die Adler is hitting a rough patch in form in all competitions.

A light at the end of the tunnel formed as their weekend opponents, Bayer Leverkusen, also lost their respective UCL meeting to Porto.

New Life Under a Spanish Manager

Despite losing 1-0 to Porto in European competition, Bayer Leverkusen welcomed Xabi Alonso with open arms as the former Real Madrid midfielder took the reins at Die Werkself last weekend.

His debut game didn’t disappoint. Leverkusen won their second domestic game of the season under Alonso with a significant scoreline of 4-0.

Leverkusen fans can now ponder with a level of optimism as the expertise of Alonso has arrived. Still, a second consecutive league victory would be idealistic for a team that’s struggled close to the relegation zone for the initial nine games of the Bundesliga season.

Betting Odds and Soccer Picks

The Bundesliga betting odds favor the visitors, but both squads present plus-money odds. Because there’s moneyline value to be found on each team, we can remove the tie game and receive a great price on the expectation that Alonso and company can extend their newfound domestic confidence.

Sitting two points above the drop zone is unacceptable for a club of Leverkusen’s caliber. As Frankfurt struggles with defensive injuries, it’s an opportunistic moment where Leverkusen can find their first road win.

Score Prediction: Eintracht Frankfurt 1 – Bayer Leverkusen 3

Athletic Club vs. Atlético de Madrid

Saturday, October 15, 2022 - 03:00 PM EDT at San Mamés

La Liga Trends

  • Athletic is undefeated in 7 of their last 8 La Liga games.
  • Athletic scores an average of 2.13 goals in their La Liga games this term.
  • Atlético de Madrid has avoided defeat in 6 consecutive La Liga away games.
  • Atlético de Madrid has defeated Athletic in just of their previous 6 meetings.

Top of the Table Clash

Athletic Club and Atlético de Madrid will battle for the third-place position in the La Liga table this weekend, as the teams are separated by one point in the current standings. Surprisingly, it’s Athletic who owns the one-point lead to sit in third after collecting 17 points from the opening eight games of the 2022-2023 Spanish campaign.

With five wins, two draws, and just one defeat in La Liga thus far, The Lions have netted 11 goals from their previous 4 La Liga game days and are looking like a top-four side this term.

A win over Madrid would solidify the Basque outfit as a serious contender. It will be intriguing to see where Ernesto Valverde’s squad is positioned on the table as we approach the winter break.

Tired Legs

Atlético de Madrid has endured a relatively successful season so far, but a midweek UCL draw with Club Brugge will have left Diego Simone’s men tired and unsatisfied.

However, after losing 3 of their previous 6 games in all competitions, there’s no time to rest, as the pressure will be on for them to collect three points against a formidable Athletic squad this weekend.

Betting Odds and Predictions

The strong reputation of Atletico doesn’t fool the best sportsbooks; the La Liga betting odds favor the home side with a +140 moneyline, with a comeback on the visitors at +200.

That said, making a straight-up prediction on this game will be unnerving, but we should expect a tight game between two of the most in-form squads in the division – take the Under!

Score Prediction: Athletic Club 1 – Atlético de Madrid 1
