Hertha BSC vs. FC Bayern Munich
Saturday, November 5, 2022 – 09:30 AM EDT at Olympic Stadium
- Bayern is unbeaten at half-time in 16 consecutive games in all competitions
- Bayern is undefeated in most recent games in all competitions
- Hertha BSC has won just 1 of their last 8 home game in all competitions
No More Cat and Mouse
As qualification into the Champions League Round of 16 has been accomplished by Bayern Munich, thus allowing Julian Nagelsmann to focus solely on removing Union Berlin from the 1st place position of the Bundesliga table.
This weekend’s visit to the Olympic stadium could give the German champions a chance to face Berlin’s lesser-talented side in a meeting with Hertha.
We should note that despite Union Berlin holding onto the top spot in the standings, there’s no comparison between these two sides.
Since their domestic resumption from the international break, Munich has won 9 of their 10 games in all competitions, and they own a goal difference that’s 16 points higher than their fellow table toppers.
Into the Drop Zone
Should Bayer Leverkusen assist Munich and defeat Union Berlin this weekend, Hertha could fall into the danger zone as they currently occupy the 14th position in the standings, two points clear of Leverkusen in 16th.
Unfortunately, Hertha will not likely do their Union rivals any favors on Saturday. As is the situation for most German squads, meetings with Bayern don’t boast a pretty record, and Die Alte Dame haven’t succeeded against the Bavarians since 2018.
Odds and Predictions
Unsurprisingly, the Bundesliga odds are heavily supporting Bayern Munich. And we’re in complete agreement with the expectation that the visitors will sail into week 14, holding onto their impressive win streak.
Hertha has continuously struggled in the final third this term, and this red flag doesn’t bode well with a visit from the most dominant team in German soccer history.
Of course, we don’t suggest the overly juiced moneyline. Take Bayern Munich -1 for a great price of -147, and sit back until your tickets are ready to cash.
Score Prediction: Hertha 0 - B Munich 3
Real Valladolid CF vs. Elche CF
Saturday, November 5, 2022 - 10:15 AM EDT at Jose Zorilla Stadium
La Liga Trends
- Elche have won just 3 of their last 23 La Liga away games
- Elche have conceded at least 1 goal in 17 consecutive La Liga games
- Elche has allowed at least 2 goals in 6 straight La Liga away meetings
Three Wins on the Bounce?
An infectious state of enthusiasm is currently surrounding Real Valladolid, who’s impressively delivered higher-than-expected performances under the tutelage of head coach Pacheta.
Prior to their dismantling at the hands of Osasuna last weekend, the newly-promoted side was previously riding a two-game win streak, both of which were obtained at the Jose Zorilla.
This previous win streak saw a 4-1 hammering over Celta Vigo before crushing Real Sociedad’s eight-game unbeaten run with a conservative but well-deserved 1-0 success.
Returning home to the Jose Zorilla will provide Valladolid with a positive outlook, especially when facing the only team in La Liga who’ve failed to win a game this term. The chance of Pacheta steering his squad back into winning ways is highly probable due to the location and the opponent’s lackluster season thus far.
Miserable at the Bottom
Across the top five domestic soccer leagues in Europe, no other team has fewer points than Elche, owning four draws and eight losses since August.
Despite the return of Jorge Almiron to the manager's dugout, Elche is still winless since May 2022.
Positives can be taken from drawn fixtures against Valencia and Espanyol; however, allowing 27 goals from 13 weeks of action is a team primed to fade at the top-rated sportsbooks.
Betting Odds And Predictions
The La Liga odds favor Valladolid, and rightfully so. You can find a respectable -125 price tag on the home side, and although this is a tempting proposition, expecting both teams to score is the safer play.
Overlooking the woes of Elche, they managed two goals against Valencia and Espanyol, respectively. We believe they can at least salvage some respect by scoring against a newly-promoted squad.
