Newcastle United vs. Norwich City

Tuesday, November 30, 2021 – 02:30 PM EST at St. James Park

Form, Mentality, Premier League Odds and Trends

  • Norwich City have won a mere two games from their 13 EPL fixtures this term
  • Newcastle have yet to win a single game in the EPL this season
  • Under 2.5 goals have been scored in Newcastle’s previous three home fixtures

Magpies to Out-Fly the Canaries

This past Saturday, Newcastle’s 2-0 defeat to Arsenal marked the North English side’s 13th winless game this season, but it’ll be Matchday 14 when newly appointed manager Eddie Howe will want to alter his squad’s downtrend.

Newcastle will meet fellow basement dwellers in Norwich City, and the bright lights of St. James Park will shine down on the Premier League’s two-worst performing clubs of the season thus far. If Newcastle will break their horrendous form, now’s the most idealistic time to do so.

A few weeks back, Norwich City were in the same position as their Tuesday night opponents - winless and still searching for their first Premier League victory. However, on Daniel Farke’s final day as manager, the Canaries collected their first win, followed by another three-point victory when Dean Smith made his debut in charge. Norwich’s weekend result was another positive outing when they held Wolverhampton to a draw, proving there’s still fight left in the newly-promoted side.

Final Thoughts | Premier League Betting Picks

Newcastle will be completely conscious that they won’t find an easier opponent to claim their first Premier League win, but how many weeks are we going to continue giving Newcastle the benefit of the doubt. Well, I’m going to provide them with one more, as the attacking prowess at St James Park is undeniable, and their squad quality is undoubtedly a step above Norwich.

Norwich’s undefeated tenure under Dean Smith won’t last forever, and Norwich has been evidently poor when on their travels.

Let’s give Newcastle sympathy, as nine of the Magpies’ thirteen opening fixtures have been against teams in the top-11, and they haven’t lost any of those four meetings in-between. The available betting value isn’t ginormous, but I see value in a Newcastle home win solely based on the caliber of team they’ll be faced with.

Final Score Prediction: Newcastle 1 – Norwich 0

Leeds United vs. Crystal Palace

Tuesday, November 30, 2021 - 03:15 PM EST at Ellan Road

Form, Mentality, Premier League Odds and Trends

  • Leeds United have won just two of their 13 EPL fixtures this term
  • Crystal Palace are undefeated in seven of their last eight EPL meetings
  • Palace have scored two or more goals in four of their si away games

The Eagles Can Capitalize on a Goal Droughted Leeds United

The absence of Patrick Bamford is evidently leaving its mark on Leeds United’s goal-scoring efforts this term, as Marco Bielsa’s side continues to deliver some beautiful football but not so much in front of goal. They are one of four teams who’ve failed to score twice during an EPL fixture this season.

Palace enters a midweek night game following their first defeat from an unbeaten seven-game run, scoring at least two goals in four of their last five away trips.

Patrick Viera is settling in comfortably as his squad is a mere four points behind sixth-place Wolverhampton in the Premier League table.

Final Thoughts | Premier League Betting Picks

The away odds available on Crystal Palace at 2/1 are surprising, especially when the Eagles have been producing enough away goals to give a cause for concern for any home team.

With his ability to call upon an extended strike force off the bench, the draw no bet wagering market on Patrick Viera’s squad is a chance I’m willing to take for my second EPL pick.

Final Score Prediction: Leeds 1 – Palace 2

EPL Pick: Palace to Win - Draw No Bet (+110) [2.10] [1u wager returns 1.10u of profit] at Intertops
