TSG Hoffenheim vs. FC Augsburg

Saturday, January 08, 2022 – 09:30 AM EST at PreZero Arena

Top-Three Chase in the Sights of Hoffenheim

This Saturday, a clash of two tales will transpire at the PreZero Arena, as 5th-placed Hoffenheim looks to extend their position to 3rd when facing an Augsburg side battling in the Bundesliga's bottom half.

Hoffenheim return as hosts this weekend, riding a six-game undefeated streak, one that involved a goal-rich consecutive run of 4 winning games. Since the beginning of November, Sebastian Hoeneß has motivated and directed his team into a European contention position within the standings; with another victory on Saturday, they could finish the weekend in 3rd place.

A mere one point above the relegation zone, Augsburg's abysmal run of form will be happily welcomed by a free-flowing Hoffenheim outfit. To the visiting team's credit, they've only lost one of their last six games, but the in-form Hoffenheim will undoubtedly present a multitude of threats in front of their home crowd.

Final Thoughts | Bundesliga Betting Picks

The Bundesliga's opening day saw Hoffenheim obliterate Augsburg 4-0. With the reverse fixture taking place on home turf, it's hard to believe they cannot repeat a similar performance.

The Bundesliga odds have been aligned with each team's contrasting success, which is why I'm backing Hoffenheim to win and over 1.5 goals to add more value.

Hoffenheim vs. Augsburg Score Prediction: Hoffenheim 3 – Augsburg 0

SC Freiburg vs. Arminia Bielefeld

Saturday, January 08, 2022 - 09:30 AM EST at Europa-Park Stadion

Freiburg Resume a Charming Season

Arminia Bielefeld's tortuous Bundesliga 2021/22 term is expected to deliver another losing result following the winter break. The bottom half team faces the daunting task of traveling to the Black Forest with a return meeting versus 3rd-placed Freiburg.

These two teams boast conflicting campaign story's thus far, with Freiburg owning the greatest beginning to a Bundesliga term in their club's history, while Arminia has struggled for results, resulting in a constant relegation battle for most of the term.

The Freiburg fan base has been accustomed to bouncing between Germany's top two divisions, but their 2021/22 journey has seen Christian Streich's team conquer club records and defy expectations. Within Freiburg's initial 17 fixtures, they conceded a mere 16 goals - a defensive structure that could only be harmonized by the defending champions Bayern Munich.

In the final third, a critical lack of composure is why Arminia remains in the bottom three. We shouldn't neglect that they're riding their first two-game winning streak of the season, but the long layoff came and interfered with that momentum.

Final Thoughts | Bundesliga Betting Picks

After the three-week break, rehabilitation, and practice, Streich has an entirely fit squad ahead of Saturday's encounter. Unlike their weekend foes, who'll be missing two crucial players in Fabian Kunze and Fabian Klos due to suspensions.

Arminia showed promise prior to the break, but their conflicts in front of goal will come short against Freiburg's proven ability to score and persistently defend. With that said, I don't expect a complete mismatch, and the betting value for Freiburg to win a low-scoring encounter coincides with my anticipated outcome.

Freiburg vs. Arminia Bielefeld Score Prediction: Freiburg 1 – Arminia Bielefeld 0

Soccer Pick: Freiburg Win and Under 3.5 (+115) [2.15] [1u wager returns 1.15u of profit] at Everygame

Real Madrid CF vs. Valencia CF

Saturday, January 08, 2022 - 03:00 PM EST at Estadio Santiago Bernabéu

Real Return From Embarrassment

Nobody expected Real Madrid's second loss of the season to come against Getafe, but last weekend saw the 16th placed team deliver a 1-0 loss to the league leaders.

Los Blancos are now just five points clear of Sevilla at the top, a concerning gap to ponder on when their fellow title chasers have a game in hand. With that said, Real Madrid has defeated Valencia in 3 of their previous 4 meetings, so the Spanish champions are expected to extend their tally by another 3 points this weekend.

Valencia is heading into a challenging set of fixtures, starting with Real Madrid, to then face Sevilla, Atletico Madrid, and Real Sociedad. A more straightforward run of games could've assisted Valencia's four-point gap between themselves and 4th placed Atletico. Still, we can't expect their league position to have gained traction with such a demanding schedule ahead.

Final Thoughts | La Liga Betting Picks

Following last week's result, I wouldn't be surprised if Valencia could obtain a positive conclusion at the Bernabeu, and either way, I expect a close encounter.

On that note, the under 2.5 goals betting market is exceptionally tempting with such luxurious La Liga odds available.

Real Madrid vs. Valencia Score Prediction: Real Madrid 2 – Valencia 0
