The first set of multiple World Cup games kicks off this Monday as England faces Iran, Senegal takes on the Netherlands and the most-even game of the day sees the USA and Wales go head to head in what is set to be both teams’ most important game of this 2022 FIFA World Cup.
With the tournament set to be as tight as ever, we are getting surprising value on some of our soccer picks here for a total of +450 World Cup betting parlay odds.
England vs. Iran
Monday, November 21, 2022 – 08:00 AM EST at Khalifa International Stadium
England arrives in Qatar as one of the favorites to lift the trophy at around +800 at some of the best sportsbooks despite being in some horrendous form having not won a game for six matches now.
England captain Harry Kane is strong on the team’s chances saying they have been trending well in recent tournaments, referring to England’s semi-final defeat in the previous World Cup and final defeat at the previous European Championship. No doubt England is favorite here, but Iran will not go down without a fight.
Although Iran sacked the coach that helped them to qualify to bring in a former Iranian national team manager Carlos Queiroz, we still believe they will be stronger in this group than people think and could deploy some very aggressive defensive tactics making them hard to break down.
England vs. Iran: Pick and Prediction
Iran will be a tough game on matchday one, and we don’t expect England to win this one easily. We believe taking England to win and under 3.5 goals at -125 seems like some good value.
The opening round of any tournament is always tough to find goals as teams are more desperate not to lose rather than trying to win.
England will be happy with a 1-0 / 2-0 win whilst Iran will try to attack if losing. They will still look to try to keep the scoreboard low.
Although predicting 2-0, we could easily see a 1-0 win here.
Predicted Score: England 2 – Iran 0

Senegal vs. Netherlands
Monday, November 21, 2022 – 11:00 AM EST at Al Thumama Stadium
Things for Senegal have been going well in recent years, making their first back-to-back World Cups. They come here as the highest-ranked African team as well as the current Africa Cup of Nations winners.
All that said, things are already looking bleak with their star player Sadio Mane set to miss the World Cup through injury. Mane has 31 goals in 59 international appearances for his nation.
Without the absent Mane it seems Senegal might look to Watford striker Ismaila Sarr to take the lead. Sarr has scored six goals this season for Watford and 10 goals in 36 appearances for Senegal.
The Netherlands is expected to breeze past this group with Senegal, Qatar, and Ecuador, with this first game against Senegal being labeled their toughest matchup in the group, which we have to agree on. Without Mane in the lineup, the Netherlands has a significant advantage over the African Cup of Nations champions.
Senegal vs. Netherlands: Pick and Prediction
Considering we are getting +110 for 3+ goals to be scored in this game we believe it to be a nice set of World Cup odds. Understandably, this is the opening game and a tight match is expected but this Dutch team is generally involved in high-scoring games.
Three goals are normal for their matches so we will take the plus money here. Both teams should have the offensive ability to score at least once, with the Dutch predicted to take a 2-1.
PSV striker and young Dutch sensation Cody Gakpo could be about to have a breakout World Cup. The 23-year-old has scored 3 goals in 9 appearances and is a player we very much like to get on the scoreboard at around +280 with the top-rated sportsbooks.
Predicted Score: Senegal 1 – Netherlands 2
World Cup Pick: Over 2.5 Goals (+110) at BetOnline
USA vs. Wales
Monday, November 21, 2022 – 02:00 PM EST at Ahmad bin Ali Stadium
Having missed out on the World Cup in 2018, the USA made this year’s edition by beating out Costa Rica for automatic qualification on goal difference. The USA has traditionally put up a strong performance on the world’s biggest stage having qualified from their group in 4 of 7 World Cups.
Wales on the other hand has not been to the World Cup since 1958 and the nation is glad to be back at one again. Star player Gareth Bale recently signed for LAFC in the United States, helping them to succeed in the MLS Cup.
It will be interesting to see how this game plays out and if Gareth Bale could contribute to the United States' downfall.
USA vs. Wales: Pick and Prediction
This is why we love the World Cup for value betting. We are getting much better odds on bets that we would normally have to lay -350, etc. We love the over 1.5 goals here at -200 as a great parlay piece.
Although this is a game neither team will want to lose, it’s also a game both teams see as a must-win if they want to advance from their group with England and Iran.
Predicted Score: USA 2 – Wales 0
World Cup Pick: Over 1.5 Goals (-200) at BetOnline
