The 2021/2022 PGA Tour season draws to a close for many this week, who miss out on regaining their 2022/2023 playing privileges and go forward to compete in the final events of the FedEx Playoffs.
That means a pressurized week for many on the cut-off line, and you can expect a slew of stories after this week’s event.
Wyndham Championship 2022
Thursday, August 4 – Sunday 7, 2022 at Sedgefield Country Club
Par 70, 7127 yards
Sedgefield Country Club Review
The Wyndham Championship is a long-established PGA Tour event at the Sedgefield Country Club (Ross Course) designed by the renowned Donald Ross.
The winning score has been between 15-20 under par in recent history on the par 70 track. Champion Bermuda greens and Bermuda fairways supply this week’s low-scoring test on a strategic track that’s stood the test of time and will not be overpowered.
J.T. Poston Analysis
Strategic golfers in top form don’t come any better than J. T. Poston in recent weeks. The home state boy won his maiden PGA Tour title here back in 2019.
Poston has been in career-best form in recent weeks, winning the John Deere Classic sandwiched between a runner-up finish at the Travelers Championship and 11th a couple of weeks ago at the 3M OPEN.
The 29-year-old has to be at the top of any lists this week and if his putter becomes red hot, a second Wyndham Championship win looks possible.
How to Bet on J.T. Poston
With perfect credentials, J. T. Poston’s price of +4000 with Bovada (visit our Bovada Review) makes plenty of appeal alongside a betting pick on a top 10 finish.

Denny McCarthy Analysis
If Poston doesn’t win this week, maybe the guy whose chance reminds me of Poston’s success in 2019 will. Denny McCarthy is that guy, a winless maiden on the PGA Tour but his recent form has been marvelous. A strong showing at the Memorial followed by a serious grind through the field in the US Open after a poor opening round changed the shape of his season.
The 29-year-old added a third top 10 finish at the John Deere Classic and last week at the Rocket Mortgage Classic was his first week back after a couple off. With that in mind, we can forgive him a missed cut which could prove a blessing in disguise as he hones his game for this week’s test.
McCarthy could be something of a Donald Ross specialist when we look at the previous four efforts here, all being in the top 40. Denny has many strong attributes associated with good performers at Sedgefield Country Club, but his putting is an exceptional strength and a tool that sets him apart.
How to Bet on Denny McCarthy
This week represents a great chance for Denny McCarthy to win a maiden PGA Tour title so take the +3500 with Everygame (visit our Everygame Review) amongst your best bets.

Si Woo Kim Analysis
There’s little doubt, that the Wyndham Championship is an event on the PGA Tour where course specialists excel more than most. South Korean, Si Woo Kim has become the most recent of the course specialists to emerge in North Carolina in the last few years.
His first PGA Tour title was here back in 2016, followed by three other top 5 finishes in the intervening five seasons to illustrate that fact.
Last week’s effort at the Rocket Mortgage Classic was an impressive one from the 27-year-old given he’d never previously flourished in Detroit, albeit that was on another Donald Ross track.
How to Bet on Si Woo Kim
It’s unlikely that Si Woo Kim is anywhere but in the higher echelons of this week’s leaderboard and with his recent good form we are going to support him heavily in the place markets at the top-rated sportsbooks.
Golf Pick: Si Woo Kim Top 20 (+145) at BetOnline

Kevin Kisner Analysis
Readers and followers would have been disappointed by Kevin Kisner last week at the Rocket Mortgage Classic when I was strong on him after a promising sojourn to the Open Championship a couple of weeks prior.
The 38-year-old from South Carolina is a regular fixture here and his affinity with the event flourished into him becoming the reigning champion a year ago after a multi-way sudden death playoff. That was after many near misses with three top 10s in the seven years prior.
Last week’s subdued effort could become a blessing in disguise this week if he gets into contention because he did have the worst of the draw bias on day one in Detroit.
How to Bet on Kevin Kisner
I believe we can forgive last week below expectation performance and trust Kevin Kisner to play well this week and maybe even defend as champion.
The other positive last week’s effort brings is juice in the price of Kevin Kisner with +3500 with Bovada so let’s add him amongst our best golf bets this week.
