The Connecticut Sun enter Tuesday against a team that beat them in the first game of the season. Will the Sun get their revenge against the New York Liberty, or will New York cover as home dogs?
Connecticut Sun vs. New York Liberty

Is Connecticut the Favorite?
Connecticut is looked at by many as one of, if not the title favorite in the WNBA this season.
They are extremely deep, they got one of their best players back from a season-long injury and they may be getting another All-Star back tonight.
Alyssa Thomas has been dominating through the first two games of the season and along with Jonquel Jones, the Sun is already dangerous.
Now they get back DeWanna Bonner tonight, as well as Courtney Williams, who have both missed the first two games of the season for Connecticut.
The addition of another two very talented ball handlers and scorers to go with Jasmine Thomas and DiJonai Carrington makes this backcourt even more dangerous.
Is New York Prepare Enough?
New York is by no means a slouch in that area, but Sabrina Ionescu can’t guard multiple people at once and lead the team in scoring.
Not only does the Sun have the guards to match up with the greatness of Ionescu, but they are a terrible matchup for the Liberty frontcourt.
- Natasha Howard will have her hands full with Jones and A. Thomas is going to be glued to Betnijah Laney all game.
- New York is going to need another two big games from Jocelyn Willoughby and Sami Whitcomb if they are to stay in this game.
The Sharp Pick
Luckily for the Sun, a road matchup in Brooklyn isn’t a hard travel trip and with Bonner and Williams coming back tonight, the Sun is now the deepest team in the W.
As much as I like the direction of the Liberty, they have the potential to be outclassed tonight in a revenge game for the Sun.
Two games are a small sample size, but once again the Sun has been a defensive juggernaut this season, allowing 92.2 possessions per 100 possessions.
Also, similarly to last season the Sun is once again leading the league in defense, while also being the slowest-paced team in the WNBA.
Getting the Liberty uncomfortable and forced to play from behind will be the first step here and I think this one could get away early.
The Sun follows this game with a home and home against Indiana, followed by back-to-back home games against the Wings, and a final home game in Washington before they head out West.
They are going to want to beat up on all of these lesser opponents.
There is a chance all four of those teams miss the playoffs this season, so with two days off before playing back at home Friday, I think for my best bets, the Sun takes care of this business trip to the borough.
