The Indiana Fever have a rare back-to-back WNBA matchup tonight. After playing last night at home, they have to travel to the Big Apple tonight for a game against the New York Liberty.
Where is the value for our WNBA pick tonight? Let’s break it down!
BMR’s Betting Pulse
• The Fever have been outperforming some expectations to start the season despite being in a rebuild mode.
• Betnijah Laney and Didi Richards will be out tonight for the Liberty, so they will be extra thin on the wing. That’s exactly where the Fever are strong.
• Tired legs will affect the Fever in the second half of this one, but the first half spread has a nice value.

Tired Legs vs. Injuries
The Fever have been outperforming some expectations to start the season and while they are firmly in a rebuild mode, this team is still made up of some dangerous scorers at guard and on the wings.
While that may not matter tonight, I do think the Fever are being undervalued some in this spot, even after playing last night. The Libs are dealing with a couple of injuries that will affect their scoring and depth tonight.
The main one is Betnijah Laney, who will remain out tonight for the Libs. Didi Richards is also out tonight for the Liberty, so they will be extra thin on the wing. That’s bad news for them because it’s exactly where the Fever are strong. Indiana’s backcourt is going to give the Libs some trouble tonight.
Without Laney, in what would have been a revenge game, the Liberty will have to rely more on Rebecca Allen and Sami Whitcomb. While the offense should find its rhythm, slowing down the Fever guards. Kelsey Mitchell is going to be a problem here without Laney.
Fever vs. Liberty Betting Analysis
While I’m tempted to take points with the Fever here in the full game, there is no telling how they will perform on no rest.
With that being said, Indiana has been a pretty good first-half team this season and with their new interim coach in place, I expect this team to play hard tonight, despite being back-to-back games.
Indiana ranks fifth in first-half offense to start this season and while their defense hasn’t been great in first halves, the Liberty has been pretty bad on both sides of the ball in first halves.
New York ranks dead last in first-half offensive rating this season, scoring just 77.9 points per 100 possessions and allowing 99.4. That’s a net rating of -21.5 points per 100 possessions in their first halves.
The Sharp Pick
I do think tired legs will affect the Fever in the second half of this one, but the first half has a nice value. Considering how slow the Liberty has been to start games this season, I could see the Fever grabbing the lead at the half.
While the steam for this one concerns me some, the value is still there in the WNBA odds the first half to bet on the Fever here.
