The reigning champion defended his title last year and Kyoung-Hoon Lee looked in fine fettle last week at the Wells Fargo Championship. Yes, many will say, you cannot win three times on a trot, but there are no holes in the South Korean’s form heading into this week’s AT&T Byron Nelson Classic at TPC Craig Ranch.

Many players will have an eye on next week’s PGA Championship but not so, Kyoung-Hoon Lee who will be 100% focused on a hat trick of titles. That achievement on the PGA Tour has been done 13 times and the last time it was done between 2009-2011 by Steve Stricker.

The last player to come closest was Brooks Koepka who was runner-up at the 2019 US Open when chasing his hat-trick of the major championship. Undoubtedly the man to beat this week and just behind the top of the market is Kyoung-Hoon Lee, who represents value at the top U.S. betting sites as he searches for the hat trick.

Weather Forecast

Currently, the forecast for Dallas in Texas this week is a rainy one, with precipitation likely on most days despite high temperatures and light winds. There is also the threat of thunderstorms each day so the event could easily become weather delayed.

If that is the case, with the holding greens, the usual low scores will be expected unless your golfer gets stuck in too much rain.

Main Contenders Betting Odds

Scottie Scheffler (+500)

Great for bettors that Scottie Scheffler has chosen to play this week in Texas as he will be very beatable on an easy track with half an eye on next week’s PGA Championship.

Jordan Spieth (+900)

Runner-up last year, Jordan Spieth remains a model of consistency on the PGA Tour in 2023 but without a win. Always a big player in his home state.

Tom Kim (+2000)

After a recent lull in form, Tom Kim is looking back in decent nick and this week’s easy test and birdie feast will suit him perfectly. Hugely respected and the Korean could easily follow his compatriot KH Lee as a champion here given his win at the Shriners Children's Open on Bentgrass greens in Las Vegas in the fall of 2022.

Hideki Matsuyama (+2200)

Japanese superstar has been fighting a troublesome neck injury and last week his Instagram showed him back in practice after receiving treatment back home in Japan. The former Masters champion would be a contender if he is now injury free after being in respectable form while suffering from the injury during the early months of the year.

Seamus Power (+5000)

This test at TPC Craig Ranch looks right up the Irishman’s Street after two strong showings here and last week’s strong effort. Seamus Power has a very solid profile this week and his Barbasol Championship win came from Bentgrass Greens.

Davis Riley (+5500)

Erratic but supremely talented Davis Riley got his maiden PGA Tour win at the recent Zurich Classic when partnering with his good friend Nick Hardy. Has won in Texas on the Korn Ferry Tour and contended at the Charles Schwab Challenge on the PGA Tour which is also held in the State on Bentgrass greens.

Sleepers Betting Odds

Cameron Champ (+8000)

Eye-catching progress these last couple of weeks for Cameron Champ after a poor season. We know from previous seasons he is a player to catch when in form, as he knows how to close better than most with his natural aggression.

Austin Smotherman (+15000)

Played respectably last year here and Austin Smotherman is trending nicely in recent weeks with a 5th at the Mexico Open on his penultimate start.

Vince Whaley (+17500)

Vince Whaley makes a delayed 2023 return to the PGA Tour this week at a track he has performed well at, these last two years. An interesting alternative for props bets.
