We have found the best 2023 Arnold Palmer Invitational bets for this week’s PGA tour event. Let’s make some betting picks and break down which golfers could come out on top.

FL residents looking to bet on this PGA Tour event can do so at any of the major Florida betting sites.

The Arnold Palmer Invitational

March 2-5, 2023 – Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Club & Lodge

Par 72, 7466 Yards

Course Notes

  • Dick Wilson designed it in 1961 while the late Arnold Palmer bought the land in the mid-70s and he redesigned the course on several occasions.
  • Par 72, 7466 yards.
  • Some of the largest TifEagle Bermudagrass greens on the PGA Tour always measure slick numbers on the stimpmeter.
  • Key metrics for success: Excellent putter and chippers who have strong GIR form and proven Florida Swing success.
  • The par-3s are all longer than average while the par-5s offer the easiest birdie opportunities.
  • The Bay Hill course is one of the toughest tests on the PGA Tour and when conditions are windy and tough the winning score can be as high as four-under-par like in 2020 when Tyrrell Hatton won.

Weather Forecast

A potentially troublesome forecast awaits the players this week in Florida with the opening and final day seemingly calm but on Friday from the late morning the wind will get up and become blustery throughout the day and into Saturday. Potentially, P.M./A.M. could have the better of Friday's weather, especially those out early Friday morning for their second round after a late start on Thursday.

Could Jordan Spieth Be a Surprise Winner?

Yes, I do believe Jordan Spieth could be a surprise winner of the Arnold Palmer Invitational this week at Bay Hill Club. Only once in the past has Spieth teed it up at Arnie's place and on that occasion, he was an impressive fourth in 2021.

Now, with the newly elevated status on the PGA Tour afforded to the event, Spieth has put it on his schedule. It's amazing that 2021 was the first occasion the twenty-nine-year-old Texan played here, a venue seemingly made for his creativity around the greens.

Jordan Spieth's form so far in 2023 has been a little bit hit-and-miss but a sixth at the Phoenix Open on his penultimate start is all the encouragement we need to support him this week. The best way to bet on Jordan Spieth is to take him in the top 10 as a props-bet at BetOnline at the price of +400 combined with the outright win price of +4000.

Can Jason Finally Have His Day in Florida?

Can former world number #1 Jason Day finally land his first tournament victory this week since the 2018 Wells Fargo Championship? A barrage of injuries has beset the thirty-five-year-old Aussie in recent years, but that looks well behind him this year as he's accumulated four top 20s, and his last three events have all been top 10 finishes.

Day has admitted to missing the sleepless Saturday nights he endured as world number #1 when often in contention before the final rounds of events. I’m sure with the form he is in, he is now remembering what those tiring nights were like, and a tournament victory looks around the corner.

Combining that with Day being a previous winner here in 2016, we know Day has what it takes at the Bay Hill Club. Day also needs to lock up a place in the world's top 50 (currently #47) for an invite to Augusta National for his beloved Masters, so motivation is at a peak.

Let's take Jason Day for a fourth top 10 in succession amongst our best prop bets at the 2023 Arnold Palmer Invitational combined with a bet on him becoming a double champion here at the attractive number of +3300 at Bovada.

Attractive Tommy Fleetwood Bet

Englishman, Tommy Fleetwood for a top 20 finish this week looks like a banker prop bet for BMR readers. The Englishman’s short game has been unusually strong at the start of this PGA Tour season and that’s a bonus given he often struggles on the greens.

The thirty-two-year-old grew up playing golf on the west coast of England on some of the windiest toughest links' tests which could be the perfect preparation for this week.  Certainly, three top 10 finishes here over the years would suggest how much he likes this test and with strong winds forecast, no one is better in those conditions on the PGA Tour.

Take Tommy Fleetwood as this week’s props bet at BMR with BetOnline in their top-20 market.
