This week the PGA Tour returns to the TPC Craig Ranch after a successful debut in 2021 when hosting the long-standing event that dates back to 1944, when Byron Nelson himself was the inaugural winner.

The TPC Craig Ranch set a very easy test last year when Kyoung Hoon Lee won from Sam Burns at twenty-five under par which was a record winning score for the Byron Nelson Classic.

With slick Bentgrass greens and Zoysia fairways meandering around Rowlett Creek it is certainly not one of Tom Weiskopf’s most strategic or demanding designs. Expect another low-scoring event this week and players’ highly proficient in Bentgrass putting could be in clover.

With the PGA Championship next week, we have a stellar field with many of golf’s leading protagonists entering this week in an attempt to sharpen their game for next week’s major championship.

Sam Burns PGA Player Breakdown

Sam might continue the trend of “Young Guns” dominating the PGA Tour winners’ enclosure. We are seeing certain domination by the PGA Tour “young guns” in recent months with multiple victories from Scottie Scheffler, Max Homa, and Sam Burns.

This week it could be the turn of Sam Burns, the twenty-five-year-old from Shreveport, Louisiana who is vying for his fourth PGA Tour title in just over a year.

Last year, Burns arrived at TPC Craig Ranch, having just won his maiden PGA Tour event: The Valspar Championship. He followed up with an impressive runner-up finish here when possibly a mixture of fatigue and Kyoung Hoon Lee’s brilliance caught up with him on the final day.

Either way, it didn’t derail his progress in the slightest as he won the Sanderson Farms Championship later in 2021 and recently his second Valspar Championship crown.

If you want more encouragement to support Sam Burns this week, take a look at his previous form at the track in 2017 when he won a PGA Qualifying School stage here.

When I priced up the 2022 Byron Nelson Classic on Sunday evening, I had Sam Burns as a joint favorite with Scottie Scheffler at prices of circa +1000 so to find GTbets offering the attractive number of betting odds of +2000 makes our best golf betting pick choices easy ones.

Brandon Wu PGA Player Analysis

It’s been known for a while in golf circles that Brandon Wu is going places. The twenty-five-year-old Californian won the Korn Ferry Tour Championship in 2020 on Bentgrass greens to gain promotion to the big league but until recently his form hadn’t reached the heights many were expecting.

That changed in the South American swing of the PGA Tour in recent weeks when Wu came 3rd at the Puerto Rico Open followed by a runner-up berth at the Mexico Open.

BMR Community: BMR Sports Betting Forum

This week at TPC Craig Ranch there’s certain agronomy to the surroundings as the Zoysia fairways and Bentgrass greens are an unusual mix on the PGA Tour. That combination can be found more easily on the Korn Ferry Tour with stops such as the Huntsville Championship in Alabama and The Price Cutter Championship at Highland Springs Country Club.

On both these tracks, Brandon Wu has completed top 10 finishes, while we know he likes Bentgrass greens, and importantly his strokes gained on the putting surfaces of the PGA Tour a solid.

There is every chance Brandon can Wu TPC Craig Ranch this week so take the attractive price of +15000 with Betonline this week amongst your best bets
