All games thus far in this series have been won by the home team with the Lightning now looking to even up the series at the Amelia Arena tonight. Tampa Bay have been made heavy favorites for tonight’s action, check out what play we are on for this important NHL playoff game.
New York Rangers vs. Tampa Bay Lightning
Tuesday, June 07, 2022 – 08:00 PM EDT at Amalie Arena
Rangers Have Some Injuries Problems
Unfortunately dealing with injuries is all part of the parcel of the NHL playoffs and the Rangers will have to overcome a big one tonight if Ryan Strome doesn’t suit up. The Rangers center-left game three and is currently questionable for tonight’s game.
On top of this, they might also be missing Barclay Goodrow who was visibly injured during a puck to the ankle in the previous game but continued the game. It’s still unclear if both players will be in the line-up today, and even if so, the question remains how effective will they be on the ice? They could be more of a hindrance than anything.
Igor Shesterkin had a whopping 49 saves in game 3 and the Rangers goaltender has played his part in this year’s playoffs allowing just 2.62 goals per game (the best amongst goaltenders who played 10 or more games in this year’s playoffs).
Lightning Starting to Come Good
Tampa bounced back from going 0-2 down in the series with a strong performance in the game, but they did almost go to overtime as it took a very late Ondrej Palat winner with less than 60 seconds remaining on the clock. The Lightning have dominated much of the possession in this series.
Their star men stepped up in the previous game as they all contributed in some way whether it be a goal or assist, even goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy has looked a lot sharper this series compared to the previous rounds.
Brayden Point has yet to feature in this series and has been ruled out for game four also but he is back on skates which is good news for the team, although they are unsure when he will return to the line-up it is looking unlikely it will be during this series.

What Are The Betting Odds and Current Lines?
Moneyline: Despite leading the series 2-1 the Rangers come into this matchup as +155 underdogs on the road in Florida tonight. The Lightning are priced up as low as -175 with Everygame (visit our Everygame Review).
Total: After the previous two games ended on five goals the total line for tonight has been set at 5.5 with the under coming in at -125 and the over at +110.
Puck Line: If you wish to take the Rangers to cover the spread at +1.5 on the PK line for the third game in a row, they can be bet at -170, the Lightning to win by two or more goals on the -1.5 PK line is coming in at odds of +155.
This has been a hard-fought series with so much on the line for both teams and we must admit the value was hard to find in this one, we don’t feel like laying that much juice with the Lightning and the Rangers could be the better moneyline play in this matchup.
The total to go under 5.5 is another play we like very much as we are predicting a 3-2 victory for either team in this matchup, although it’s hard to call which goaltender will come away with the win, both are two of the best in the NHL right now and for this reason we are boldly betting on the game to go to overtime at +300.
Predicted Score: NY Rangers 2-2 Tampa Bay Lightning
