Two of the in-form teams in the NHL face off tonight in the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The Nashville Predators have won eight of their previous ten NHL outings, which is the joint best in the Western Conference alongside the Vancouver Canucks.

The home team, Las Vegas has won seven of their previous ten NHL games, and following a 5-4 loss to the Winnipeg Jets last time out they will be hoping to get back to winning ways tonight as -125 favorites.

Nashville Predators vs. Vegas Golden Knights

Tuesday, January 04, 2022 – 10:00 PM EST at T-Mobile Arena

Nashville Predators

The Predators have 100% been flying under the radar in the NHL this season, but their seven-game winning streak prior to the short break has seen them catapulted into the top half of the Western table and now sit just two points behind their opponents tonight with two games in hand, a win here for the Predators would essentially put their own faith in their hands for the rest of the season.

This is a tough team to play against and all we need to do is check out their penalty minutes to see why, they lead the league with the most penalty minutes and have way more hits per 60 minutes than their opponents today, with the Golden Knights ranking inside the bottom three.

Vegas Golden Knights

The team from Vegas has been impressive this season given the fact they have missed a lot of key players throughout this season with injuries, covid, etc. Yet somehow, they still find themselves top of the Western Conference, even though they let Marc Andre Fleury go.

The Golden Knights come into this game without a LOT of key pieces. Goaltender, Robin Lehner out, Stone, Pacioretty, and Martinez are all out as well as Jack Eichel who is yet to make his debut for the team. This team is more than capable of pulling off a result without the players but at -125? We don’t think they're value here, even if they were to win.

Laurent Brossoit is set to make his 5th straight start in net for Vegas and although he has an 8-3-1 record this season, this is a lot to ask of the 28-year-old.

Team Trends

*Trends should never be your main source of information when it comes to making your betting picks, they are merely guidelines and mostly irrelevant information but nonetheless can be interesting to read.

What Are The Betting Odds and Current Lines?

Moneyline: The Predators opened up at a massive +240 on the moneyline but have since been backed into as low as +115 for this NHL game. If you believe Vegas to be the play here you will have to lay current juice up to -125 with BetOnline.

Total: The total for this game has been set at 5.5 with the juice heavily towards the over at -125, whilst the under can be bet at +110.

Puck Line: The Predators to cover the dog plus line at +1.5 is -210, which in our opinion holds zero value. The Golden Knights on the -1.5 line is best priced at +180.

Nashville Predators vs. Los Vegas Golden Knights Betting Prediction

With Vegas having all those injuries and the Predators being almost 100% healthy, and the inform team in the league right now we can’t look past the Predators on the moneyline at plus money, honestly, this is a steal and we would bet them as low as -110 in this matchup.

Although our only official play is the moneyline, we suggest sprinkling something on the over also as these teams have combined for 7.57 goals per game this season. With Vegas goaltender playing his 5th straight and shipping a five last time out, we might see a similar result. Vegas don’t usually lose by more than one so maybe the Predators -1.5 isn’t the best play here but if it was ever going to happen, you would think it’s against the in-form team with a backup goaltender playing his 5th straight. The odds on the Predators -1.5 is +300.
