Despite having just three NHL games on tonight’s card the battle of the big apple takes place between the New York Islanders and New York Rangers, although we have decided to pass on this game due to the fact it could be low scoring.
However, we do want to mention Mika Zibanejad as an NHL pick to score anytime at +130 looks like a nice bet here.
Our official prop plays tonight see the Edmonton Oilers travel to St Louis and Tampa Bay continuing their California road trip having lost 4-2 to the L.A Kings last night as they face the Anaheim Ducks tonight.
Edmonton Oilers vs. St. Louis Blues
Wednesday, October 26, 2022 – 08:00 PM EDT at Enterprise Center
Blues' Prop Bet: Vladimir Tarasenko
Following the NHL odds, lifelong St Louis Blues forward Vladimir Tarasenko has been one of their main players throughout the past 7 or so seasons since he joined the team in 2013. We like the Blues on home ice tonight against this Edmonton team who has conceded 5/2/4/3/4/8/4/3 goals on the road in their past 7 games.
Tarasenko has been the Blues' main points scorer this season leading the stats with 6 points and last time out was his only pointless game of the season, which also happened to be the Blues' first loss of the season as well as the fact they were shut out, which isn’t favorable for scoring points to say the least.
Tarasenko should be able to pick up a point tonight against this poor Oilers road trend so we are laying -200 for his over 0.5 points total (we only need a goal or an assist), last season Tarasenko scored 1/3/0 points each game against the Oilers.
We usually only play 1 unit per pick but here we will be laying -200 odds so we will bet 2 units to win 1.
NHL Prop Pick: Tarasenko Over 0.5 Points (-200) at Everygame
Oilers Prop Bet: Connor McDavid
Okay, we understand the St Louis Blues are a very good team defensively and they are leading a lot of defensive stat charts right now, but it has to be noted they have only played 4 games this season compared to most teams 6 or 7 games so their stats are kind of irrelevant at that stage until things even out.
With this in mind, we believe Connor McDavid holds a LOT of value on his shot total going over 3.5 at -124 at top-rated sportsbooks, we can’t ignore the fact his shot line is usually 4.5, we are dropping one whole point here, this is a no brainer.
McDavid has seen 4/4/4/2/2 shots per game this season, we very much like the fact he has now gone two games with only two shots. We expect him to be a bit more shot-friendly tonight, especially since the Oilers have had just an okay start to the season having gone 3-3 in their first 6 games on home ice.
NHL Prop Pick: Over 3.5 Shots (-124) at BetOnline
Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Anaheim Ducks
Wednesday, October 26, 2022 - 10:00 PM EDT at Honda Center
Ducks Prop Bet: Frank Vatrano
Former long-term Florida Panthers player Frank Vatrano began his life on the west coast for the Anaheim Ducks with 3 goals scored in his first six games, which isn’t a bad return to be honest considering he is a top 5-9 type of player.
The Ducks have been on the road the past 5 games and during that unfavorable spell, Vatrano has seen 3 or more shots in 2 out of the 5 games. The opening game of the season on home ice and Vatrano’s only previous home game as a Ducks player saw him end with a total of 3 shots.
We like the fact that Vatrano will play an old foe in the Tampa Bay Lightning, but has had a mixed record last season when playing the Lightning with an average of 2.10 shots across 10 games between the regular season and playoffs, clearing the 2.5 line on 4 of the 10 occasions. We like the fact we are getting some small plus money here.
NHL Prop Pick: Over 2.5 Shots (+108) at BetOnline
Lightning Prop Bet: Victor Hedman
Not only does Hedman average 3 shots per game this season alone and dating back to last season an average of 2.67 per game (the second highest on the team), but he also plays the most minutes on the ice for this Lightning team which is always going to give us a better chance of cashing his over 2.5 shot line.
Hedman has seen 3/2/5/2/4/3/1 shots each game this season, clearing 3+ on four occasions and very much liking the fact Hedman only had one shot last time out when losing 4-2 to the L.A Kings. He should look to get some more puck on net tonight.
NHL Prop Pick: Over 2.5 Shots (-115) at BetOnline
