Picks Summary:

  • Patrick Kane (New York Rangers) – Over 0.5 Assists (-110)
  • Timo Meier (New Jersey Devils) – Over 0.5 Points (-200)
  • David Krejci (Boston Bruins) – Over 0.5 Assists (+130)

With a jam-packed NHL betting card today we’ve had plenty of opportunities to seek out some nice NHL player props for you guys.

Taking a look at today’s selections we are anticipating NY Ranger’s newest addition Patrick Kane to finally break the duck and get on the scoreboard for his new team.

Elsewhere we are also targeting the “new guy” for the New Jersey Devils, Timo Meier, though he has already gotten off the mark at the time of writing. We are laying some heavy juice on him today, but will also offer an alternative selection as well.

Finally, we found some nice plus-money odds with the Bruins’ David Krejci.

New York Rangers vs. Montreal Canadiens

Thursday, March 9, 2023 – 07:00 PM EST at Bell Centre

Patrick Kane (New York Rangers)

Over/Under Assists

  • Goals Scored: 16
  • Goals Assisted: 29
  • Shots Per Game: 3.35

It seems to be a trend around the league to get the new forwards on the scoreboard for their team as quickly as possible, with both Timo Meier and Vladimir Tarasenko scoring on their debuts.

Unfortunately, Patrick Kane has had to endure two games without landing a point for his new team. But tonight could be the optimal time as the NY Rangers face a Montreal Canadiens team who have 12 injuries, allow the 5th most amount of goals in the NHL, and rank 2nd to last in the Eastern Conference

Although we really wanted to just take Kane for over 0.5 points here. We couldn’t justify laying the (-250) NHL betting odds and instead opted to lay just (-110) on his over 0.5 assists as he has been much more of a playmaker than a goalscorer in recent years and has had 146 assists compared to 57 goals.

New Jersey Devils vs. Washington Capitals

Thursday, March 9, 2023 – 07:00 PM EST at Capital One Arena

Timo Meier (New Jersey Devils)

Over/Under Points

  • Goals Scored: 32
  • Goals Assisted: 21
  • Shots Per Game: 4.44

As we said Timo Meier banged in a goal during his debut and we are looking to lay the (-200) odds on the Devils’ latest addition to getting back on the scoreboard tonight having failed to do so last time out.

Meier can become one of this team’s top points scorers next season. Although his current ranking of only 53 points would see him as the 5th highest scorer on this roster currently, it must be noted he had to carry the Sharks along with Erik Karlsson.

With a better team around him, he should generate more scoring opportunities.

If laying (-200) is not your thing, we also like his shot total over 3.5 at (+110). Meier has averaged 4.44 shots per game, and since joining the Devils has had four and three shots respectably.

Edmonton Oilers vs. Boston Bruins

Thursday, March 9, 2023 – 07:30 PM EST at TD Garden

David Krejci (Boston Bruins)

Over/Under Assists

  • Goals Scored: 13
  • Goals Assisted: 37
  • Shots Per Game: 1.52

A player we have yet to target this season has been the Bruins’ David Krejci as he has kind of been flying under the radar but he has played well enough to come to our attention as the Bruins 3rd highest points scorer this season.

We are targeting his assists total and we love the odds on him to see over 0.5 assists at (+130). It’s clear Krejci isn’t much of a goalscorer with only 1.52 shots per game, and his assists this season heavily outweigh his goals.

Since the start of January, Krejci has had an assist in 55% of his games which is (-120) NHL betting odds. So to get it at (+130) for that prop we are more than happy to choose that as our final NHL pick.

The opposition might be strong offensively, but defensively the Oilers allow 3.30 goals per game.
