We are predicting the NHL’s best player right now to bounce back with his shot total over as well as to keep up his current eight-game points streak going which has seen him score 21 points in those eight games (insanely good numbers).

Elsewhere for our NHL picks, we are looking at laying some heavy juice in the Anaheim Ducks and Montreal Canadiens games as well as Seattle forward Oliver Bjorkstrand getting his shooting gloves on.

Last night we bounced back from a horrible 0-3 night to go 3-1, which included a nice +130 NHL odds winner.

Overall NHL Article Plays This Season: 123-90

Picks Summary

  • Oliver Bjorkstrand (Seattle Kraken) – Over 2.5 Shots (-115)
  • Connor McDavid (Edmonton Oilers) – Over 4.5 Shots (-110)
  • Troy Terry (Anaheim Ducks) – Over 0.5 Points (-175)

Seattle Kraken vs. Columbus Blue Jackets

Friday, March 3, 2023 – 07:00 PM EST at Nationwide Arena

Oliver Bjorkstrand (Seattle Kraken)

  • Goals Scored: 13
  • Goals Assisted: 19
  • Shots Per Game: 2.40

Although Oliver Bjorkstrand has only scored the seventh-most amount of points for Seattle this season, he has been their highest shot taker having had 2.40 shots per game. The Krakens opponents Columbus allow the third-highest amount of shots against this season and Bjorkstrand has hit over 2.5 shots in 3 of his previous 4 games including a 7-point haul against the Detroit Red Wings last time out.

The Kraken are still in the Western Conference title race and will be confident of a win here against an inferior Columbus Blue Jackets team.

Winnipeg Jets vs. Edmonton Oilers

Friday, March 3, 2023 – 09:00 PM EST at Rogers Place

Connor McDavid (Edmonton Oilers)

  • Goals Scored: 52
  • Goals Assisted: 66
  • Shots Per Game: 4.43

McDavid is easily the best player in the NHL right now, he leads both the goals and assists charts as well as having the second highest amount of shots per game this season (behind David Pastrnak).

Looking at McDavid’s stats on Thursday he has been incredibly profitable on Fridays having scored 13 points in just 5 games played and averaging 4 shots per game and against Western Conference opponents 4.41 per game. On top of this, McDavid has also scored two goals in his previous five games in a row and has averaged 5.87 shots per game over this ongoing points streak.

Despite having three game points last time out McDavid only ended the game with three shots, he has seen 5+ shots in 58% of his games since the start of 2023, which is -132 NHL betting odds, we believe there to be some small value on McDavid’s shot total over 4.5 down to odds -130.

Montreal Canadiens vs. Anaheim Ducks

Friday, March 3, 2023 – 10:00 PM EST at Honda Center

Troy Terry (Anaheim Ducks)

  • Goals Scored: 17
  • Goals Assisted: 30
  • Shots Per Game: 2.81

Since returning from a few games off with an injury, Troy Terry has been electric for the disappointing Ducks, scoring at least one point in 6 of his last 9 and is currently riding a scoring streak having scored in his past four games.

The Ducks are bad, but their opponents are bad and very injured with no less than 10 players out of the team, 70% of which are regular starters. Terry and the Ducks should be able to get a few goals here having scored 3+ in 3 of their previous 4 home games.

We are prepared to lay the -175 for Terry to get at least one point here as he has already accumulated 47 points in 55 games for the lowest-scoring team in the league, which says a lot about his numbers. Imagine how they would look if he was on a strong offensive team. Terry has already scored once against the Canadiens this season.
