Tonight we have six NHL games on our betting card, taking a look at the player prop markets we seem to have found some nice value on the Toronto Maple Leafs Auston Matthews to go over his shot total tonight.

Elsewhere we are targeting two of the best Russian players in the league to get on the scoreboard in their respective games.

  • Overall NHL Article Plays This Season: 119-87

Picks Summary:

  • Vladimir Tarasenko (New York Rangers) – Over 0.5 Points (-110)
  • Auston Matthews (Toronto Maple Leafs) – Over 3.5 Shots (-130)
  • Alex Ovechkin (Washington Capitals) – Anytime Goalscorer (-110)

New York Rangers vs. Philadelphia Flyers

Wednesday, March 1, 2023 – 07:30 PM EST at Wells Fargo Center

 Vladimir Tarasenko (New York Rangers)

  • Goals Scored: 12
  • Goals Assisted: 21
  • Shots Per Game: 2.45

Although Russian Vladimir Tarasenko has gone cold for the NY Rangers having not scored a point in his previous three games, we must remember he did score 4 points in his first 6 games since joining the Rangers only almost one month ago.

The Rangers jumped through hoops to get their hands on Patrick Kane just yesterday, meaning they have now brought in two elite former Stanley cup winners, despite both being a little past their prime, both Tarasenko and Kane can help this Rangers team go deep into the playoffs.

We are liking the Rangers to score a few goals tonight against this Flyers team who have allowed 5.1 goals per game in their previous three outings and Tarasenko to get back on the scoreboard at -110 NHL odds.

Everybody will be riding with Patrick Kane tonight, and rightly so, but the sportsbooks know this and there is no value in taking Kane whatsoever, give us Tarasenko to break his scoreless streak in this one.

Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Edmonton Oilers

Wednesday, March 1, 2023 – 08:00 PM EST at Rogers Place

 Auston Matthews (Toronto Maple Leafs)

  • Goals Scored: 28
  • Goals Assisted: 31
  • Shots Per Game: 4.15

Although Auston Matthews hasn’t been the Maple Leafs’ top points scorer this season, he has registered the most shots per game for his team coming in at 4.15. When playing on the road, Matthews has been able to hit 4.05 shots per game.

Coming into this road game against an Edmonton team who are stacked offensively but somewhat vulnerable defensively, we are more than happy to take Matthews to see over 3.5 shots at -130 for our NHL picks.

Matthews ‌had 4+ game shots in 62% of his games played this season, which in betting odds is -160. We are getting value here. This will be Matthews’s first game against the Oilers this season, he should be relishing the opportunity to come out on top in this one.

When facing Western Conference opposition Auston Matthews has averaged 4.8 shots per game and has also found Wednesday’s games successful in front of the net, having had 4.1 shots per game. All the stats point toward Matthews’s total shots over in this NHL matchup.

Washington Capitals vs. Anaheim Ducks

Wednesday, March 1, 2023 – 10:00 PM EST at Honda Center

Alex Ovechkin (Washington Capitals)

  • Goals Scored: 33
  • Goals Assisted: 24
  • Shots Per Game: 4.22

The Washington Capitals’ main goalscoring threat this season is -110 tonight to score on the road against the worst defense in the league. The home team, Anaheim has allowed 4.08 goals per game.

Alex Ovechkin managed to get on the scoresheet last time out during the Capitals’ 6-3 loss against the Buffalo Sabres, that goal broke his four-game goalless streak.

Ovechkin failed to score the last time he faced the Ducks. It’s hard to believe he will do so twice in a row against not only the league’s worst defense, but Ovechkin has also scored 17 goals in 25 games against Western opposition, compared to 16 goals in 32 games against the Eastern Conference.

Lay the juice on Ovechkin to score yet again tonight, don’t be surprised if he scores 2+ goals, which is available to bet with top-rated sportsbooks at +300.
