Picks Summary

  • Bo Horvat (New York Islanders) – Over 2.5 Shots (-130)
  • Mikael Backlund (Calgary Flames) – Over 2.5 Shots (-130)
  • Jason Robertson (Dallas Stars) – Over 1.5 Points (+150)

We are looking to play it a little safer today with our picks following our 3-3 run over the past two days. There are only three NHL games on our NHL betting card and we have brought you a selection in all three matchups for your NHL picks.

Firstly we are laying the juice with player shots on the first two games, while the Dallas Stars main man, Jason Robertson can get back on the scoreboard tonight against a poor and fatigued Chicago team at plus money with the late game.

Winnipeg Jets vs. New York Islanders

Wednesday, February 22, 2023 – 07:00 PM EST at UBS Arena

Bo Horvat (New York Islanders)

Over/Under Shots

  • Goals Scored: 35
  • Goals Assisted: 25
  • Shots Per Game: 2.91

Since joining the NY Islanders a few weeks back, Bo Horvat has produced 6 points (four goals and two assists) in 8 games played, averaging 2.9 shots per game.

Tonight on home ice, Horvat faces a Winnipeg Jets team from the Central division, which he has had success against so far this season when it comes to shot-taking with an average of 3.5 shots per game against this division. Horvat has also hit 3+ game shots in 54% of his games played.

We are looking to take Horvat to bounce back in this game as he only registered one and two shots in his previous two outings. Look for Horvat to have over 2.5 shots on home ice at (-130) with BetOnline.

This will be Horvat’s first matchup against the Winnipeg Jets this season.

NHL Pick: Bo Horvat - Over 2.5 Shots (-130) at BetOnline

Calgary Flames vs. Arizona Coyotes

Wednesday, February 22, 2023 – 09:30 PM EST at Mullett Arena

Mikael Backlund (Calgary Flames)

Over/Under Shots

  • Goals Scored: 12
  • Goals Assisted: 26
  • Shots Per Game: 3.17

Although we were originally looking at Nazem Kadri here, his shot total was set way too high at 3.5 considering he averages around the same amount of shots as Mikael Backlund.

Averaging 3.17 shots per game, Backlund has been the Calgary Flames second highest shot taker thus far this season and his opponents tonight (Arizona) allow the second most amount of shots against per game in the entire NHL with an average of 35.22 per game.

The Swedish-born player has been on fire in front of the net in his recent games having taken 5/5/5/3/5 shots in his past five games. Overall this season has had 3+ shots in 59% of his games and besides his awful month in November, he has been hitting over 2.5 shots 73% of the time.

Interestingly Backlund registered zero shots the last time he faced Arizona, we don’t expect a repeat tonight. Backlund has had just 5 shotless games from 57 played.

Chicago Blackhawks vs. Dallas Stars

Wednesday, February 22, 2023 – 09:30 PM EST at American Airlines Center

Jason Robertson (Dallas Stars)

Over/Under Points

  • Goals Scored: 34
  • Goals Assisted: 37
  • Shots Per Game: 3.87

Our final selection on tonight’s NHL card takes us to Dallas where we are betting on Jason Robertson to get back on the scoreboard having failed to register a point in his previous two games. Take Robertson to see 2+ game points tonight at some nice NHL odds at (+150).

Robertson has had a point in 75% of his games played this season and tonight he faces a Chicago team who are on a back-to-back and allows 3.59 goals against per game (the 6th worst in the NHL).

This is a must-win game for Dallas, despite sitting top of the Central division, they are on an 0-4 losing streak, even suffering a loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-1 last time out.

With Robertson being the Stars' main attacking threat, we are more than happy to take him to have over 1.5 points in this NHL matchup, the last time he faced Chicago he scored two goals.

NHL Pick: Jason Robertson - Over 1.5 Points (+150) at BetOnline
