It’s been three scoreless games now for the league’s 10th-highest scorer Mark Scheifele, but we are liking his (+190) odds to find the back of the net tonight. Let’s be fair the NY Rangers are a good defensive team and have one of the best goaltenders in the world in Igor Shesterkin.
Hence the reason we believe Scheifele to be priced as high as +190 to score here and the NY Rangers have only allowed 2.68 goals per game, which is the sixth-best defense in the league.
All that said, he did manage to score twice against the NY Rangers when these teams last met, a game which ended 4-1 to the Winnipeg Jets.
The Rangers have been winning at home in recent games but allowed 3.1 goals against them in their previous three and might suffer a second defeat here following their first loss in seven last time out.

The Pittsburgh Penguins second highest scorer Jake Guentzel can find the back of the net tonight against a NY Islanders team that allows the 5th most amount of shots against them per game in the entire NHL.
The 28-year-old has failed to score in any of his two games against the Islanders this season, he also has the poorest scoring record when facing a team in his own division with just 2 goals scored from 14 games played.
All this said we are looking to buck some of these trends, Guentzel faced the Islanders only three days ago and scored no goals and registered zero shots for just the 4th time in 51 games this season.
We believe he will have figured out the Islanders in the previous game and can hopefully come into this game looking for some revenge having not been productive in two games against the Islanders, although he did pick up one assist, he only registered one shot in two games, far from his average of three.
